For my Artwar Hero, I'm taking inspiration from the Finnish Sigil (Lion holding 2 swords ) and the Finnish Mythology epic Kalevala to create an Epic hero.

Here is my current reference board. Using a Lion motif for the hero.
My initial Idea is a great warrior veteran of myth - Old but Strong.
First pass of ideas before I go to 3D. Leaning towards no.4 The embodiment of the Sigil itself sounds like a cool idea

1st pass with the sculpt. Next is to fixed some of the anatomy and do some draw overs

Fleshing out my idea for the sculpt
Blocking out most of the pieces of the character. Not 100% happy with the anatomy but working on it. Getting this ready before the deadline is gonna be close ;D
More progress. Next I'll work up blocking out the swords and work on the shoes and straps
Done with the base for the legs and shoes. Now to focus on the face and Shoulderpad 
Base mesh for weapons and some more blackouts added. Less than a week left so now it's just polishing everything and adding detail
Not long before deadline and I think I still got loads to do but I'll see if I can get this presentable before time runs out but this is my entry for the time being.
I have polished it as far as I can with the time left. I shall call it done for now! I'm going to study and polish this more after the contest. But I'm super proud of how far I got with my first ArtWar participation :'D
