I rarely post my work online but i decided to enter this art war. The problem is I'm not sure what side to chose. I've doodled some characters for both sci-fi and fantasy, maybe you guys could give me some feedback and help me decide.

damn, the first idea is good, it is just the kind of style i love, for the second one, i dont know why it reminds me of Baron Praxis from Jack and Dexter 2

Thanks, yeah I'm kinda leaning more towards fantasy right now. I think I can build on the first character. Plus I'm not too good at drawing mechanical stuff so the simplicity of the first character kinda suits my skill level lol. I never played Jax and Daxter 2 was more of a ratchet & clank fan xD.

Both concepts are great. It's difficult to decide. What ever you want to draw, just have fun

I think I'm liking the fantasy character a bit more than the sci fi one. He has more character to him.

I love the fantasy concept, more story and character just like what @malcom said, as for the sci fi one, the armor design is complex and cool, but I think it's too much. So in my opinion continue the fantasy one, you captured the theme perfectly and the character is unique. Looking forward for updates from you!

@frankenstejin Thanks, I'm definitely having fun with this contest. There's some great work being done by everyone.

@Malcom Yeah I could see that, the funny thing is I spent more time trying to give the sci fi guy more character lol. Oh well, I'm going to keep working both of them until I make up my mind.

Thanks kreyhardt, yeah I think you're right maybe the fantasy character is a better fit. Now I just need to think of a name and maybe create a backstory to help me develop him further.

He reminds me a lot of hellboy, but I really like the wild chimp like feel too him. Very dynamic

Thanks! yea, Mike Mignola is one of my biggest influences so i could definitely see the comparison with Hellboy.

This is a character i'd love ( and hope) to see in a tv show, i dont know but it has a lot of charisma and personality, besides the design is brutal GG @aram

Threw some cleaner lines over the rough sketch.

I tried making it like a comic book cover. Not sure if this will be the final though.

Most of all .. i love the pose variations.
