Howdy! So, um... It's mostly going to be pretty girls and fantasy stuff here...but I'm working on branching out! Haha

I'll be putting up WIPs, finished products, and random doodles. Maybe the odd process vid, once I figure out a good way to do that! Anyway, here's some recent stuff.

Thanks man! What an awesome compliment 😊 Actually, there's no 3D in these. (Though I did photobash some of the scenery in the dino picture.) Everything else is just painted in Photoshop 😁 More to come, for sure!

Well, still working on my ArtWar entry, so not much progress on the mermaid! But here's an ice dragon that looked cool (but didn't really work for my concept).

That dragon has a cool design. Also you have a fairly interesting style. It must take you a while to achieve that sort of realistic/3D-ish look.

Anyway, I especially like the fairy queen and I'm looking forward to see how the mermaid piece will come out. So far it seems like it will be gorgeous. Keep it up!

Thanks @cedricgo! Yeah, paintings can take a while, especially when there are a lot of different textures involved. Still learning how to streamline the process

I'm glad you like the fairy queen! Hopefully the mermaid will turn out something like that once I finally get back to it. ^.^

The way you achieve that 3D-like feel with your paintings is really awesome, because everything is blended in well and doesn't feel 'out of place'.

@soluxos Hi Celine! Thank you very much Your art is gorgeous--congrats on making it into the mosaic!

Now that ArtWar is over, I finally got back to the mermaid...made some changes to the bodice and started on the fins today. I also threw in a place-holder background. Way far from finished, but it's nice to finally make some progress on this one after...three months, I think? Yikes!

Fun fact: This was the first time I tried the mixer brush duplication technique. Took some trial and error, but ultimately it was really cool! I only drew one scale for her whole tail. Serious time saver

Hello again, after a really long hiatus! I was heads down doing client work for the last month or so, BUT--here's some art I made in my free time. (Poor mermaid got put on the back burner again )

Hatsune Miku - collab with another artist (@sketchtoro) on Instagram. She drew the pencils, I digitally inked and colored. Really different style than my usual stuff, but it was fun to branch out.

What you you think? I've never done coloring quite this way before, so I'd love any critique you are kind enough to throw at me!

I also started taking a comic book creation class! So stay tuned for pages as I finish those up. Aaannnd eventually the mermaid. I promise I have not forgotten about her. 😅

Still heads-down with work, but here's something I made for a 30 minute art challenge club (the theme was "sci-fi doorway"). More experiments with the lasso tool!

Also, still working on the comic pages for class. Here are the character design sheets I made for the assignment. My comic is a fantasy--a combination of several traditional fairytales, set in a steampunk version of the French revolution. Any feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Starting on some Star Wars fan art now...here's the base sketch before I head on into a more detailed painting. Still have some anatomy kinks to work out, but I'm excited

Fixed the pose some more and cleaned up the lines. (Spiderman turned out to be a really good pose reference... :P)

Now I am trying to lay down the AO layer. Normally, I jump right ahead into color, but I've been struggling a lot with values and lighting. SO, step by step it is. I still have to do her hair, pants, boots, and lightsaber.

Any tips on rendering ambient occlusion? As always, C&C appreciated.

Finished out the main AO pass...

And then started on the lighting/detail pass. I've worked on the skin and hair today, paying closer attention to my Daisy Ridley reference images on this part! LOTS of trial and error, but I think it's looking much closer to her likeness now.

Now on to her clothing!

Hey guys! I had to take a break from Rey to finish up comic homework. Now that it's done, I can finally get back to painting In the meantime, here's how the pages turned out.

Critique is welcome, but I will say beforehand that the class assignment was a four-page short story--and I ended up opting for the prologue of a much longer story instead. So if it seems like a lot is left unanswered, that's why. I was toying with the idea of taking it through to completion, but we'll see.
