So I finished the first animal construction. I choose also a horse like in the Video because I will need this maybe more in future and also it was easier to get in to.
I also noticed that many of the muscles for the construction are just very soft visible. So my brush edges in the drawing are maybe to hard at some spots

There is the last Assignment

I will leave it by one for now. The creature drawing class was so far the most exiting class of the program ^ ^

These all look fantastic! Your final in particular is really cool

So I did the Mech Design

The Idea Was an Observation Mech for other planets with some weapons to defend against Alien creatures.

It is a bit messed up but I just make it worse somehow while keep going. I think It is my lack of knowledge of how to handle the lights.
I also skipped the 3d Stuff for now because my Zbrush trail is over and I would have to learn a new program but I do not have much motivation to work on 3d for now. Maybe I will come back to this point later.

Here is the Day and night assignment of the color and light class

The Landscape was a bit sketchy. Also, it was a bit difficult to apply the theory to something that is not static like the example in the video. But I think my color and light skills will get better with practice on different peaces while keep the theory in mind

There is the composition assignment. This one is made verry verry quick and rough. I took the first thing that was in my mind by looking on the principles and put it out in a few seconds each.
To get the real experience in composition I should practice the principles on actual images while keeping the theory in mind

Here is the first step of the personal project class: the name of the world

The plan is to revisit an old Idea of a fantasy story I imagined some years ago and give it live.

next I will create a little map of my world and after that I will do some pages with some characters from the different nations

Here a little WIP

I now have all the greater landmarks set. Now I will render the map out to a certain level. I aim for a Style like the World Maps from Ice and Fire. After that I will do a sheet for each of the nation, Including 3 Characters each to get a Feel of the Culture there.
For the Map I had a little pre-version but for the most of the following stuff I just have some rough ideas I want to do

Maybe I set the bar a bit to high for this but I always wanted to create more out of this World and I think why not now ^^

Finally Done!

It took a little other turn than I wanted first. But it looks well I think. I like the softer and more saturated touch on it.
sure I could work it out more some hours but I think that would be too much work for just slight changes.
I also participate on Inktober right now so the "real" personal project class project will be a bit slower ^^

excellent work, looks like it was ripped from the pages of Wheel of Time or Dragon Lance :+1:

So I finished the designs for the first faction out of 13. So it will take a while to finish all ^^

First I wanted to create a full rendered character painting for each but this would be a bit to much. So my plan now is just to add base colors and a simple shading/lighting after the drawing like these here. But it will still take some time I think ^^

Hey Gondo, looks great! What an effort!
One thing though, for me the right arm (left for us) of the scholar looks quite unrelaxed. If he does have a really flexible shoulder, never mind

Thank you ^^

yes, I need to work more on my anatomy

Hi gondo, first good progress keep it up !!
I think u should work more on your 3d "understanding". U want to hack your brain for visualize everything u draw in 3d before drawing it. It's the first assignement of Marc and a very important one. Drew box / cylinder / cone in every perespective possible, intersect them / try to shade them in multiple angle. Those basics form are our building blocks. With this blocks we can build everything. Before trying to figure out what's the anatomy figure out what are the primary building blocks and the proportion between them.
I hope it will help you.
Keep it up we are all strugling hard ! ^^

Thanks for the feedback ^^ and yes it is true. Also, I think it is a big problem of mine to motivate myself for just practicing single things. But I try to work on it.
I think I am not the only one who feels that way ^^

2/13

Finally, I could work further on the project. This time I used gradient maps for the color. I am not as happy with the result as at the first one, so I will keep the old workflow for colors.
Also, I still struggle a bit with 3d vision which you can see especially at the lower arms.
