Haven't made that much progress since I wasn't really feeling like working on it last night, but here's her initial pose. ^-^

Had a rough time coming up with ideas for my second character design... The idea of a magician in a futuristic environment didn't sink in to my head that good (Haven't found any good reference too). After doing and erasing a lot of rough ideas, I was finally able to come up with a design that I'm excited with!

I didn't realize the amount of cloth material that I have to do for her design until I'm at this point. >.< I'm not against the challenge but... ;-; What do you guys think so far ?

So I'm having a hard time motivating myself to draw or do some work again and started doubting myself so I decided to just put all my attention in this piece and try to pull myself back together.

You are definitely getting better and better but if you want get better even faster try to study facial features one by one, draw a bunch of eyes, lips, noses etc. If you draw 10 each you will learn more than drawing 10 portraits because you will focus on everything individually, too much things at once -> less focus -> slower progress, of course you can achieve the same with drawing just portraits but it is harder and slower Cheers!

I agree with the previous commenters. You are progressing fast! I want to see you do the head proportion exercises from class and do another portrait after that to see how your approach changes.

Hello it's me again with another portrait! ^-^ I tried a different approach in the process and went straight ti painting without doing any sketch. I also tried a new way to do hair, what do you guys think about it? ^-^

Hello Pitrek, thanks for the comment and will definitely try do some facial features separately! ^-^ I actually never done it before since I find it personally... boring? but I'' definitely give it a shot.^^

You can call me WeirdOwl, Viktoriya, Vika or even Sempai Joking. Either of the first three is fine.
I was going to point out also that drawing separate features is a very useful exercise. It's not boring if you try drawing eyes of various humans: old/young, different races, genders, etc. You'll see how different the eyes could be and how unique each shape is. Same goes for noses and lips.
Good idea drawing different expressions by the way! The tongue portrait is very fun.

So here's my first attempt at doing separate features! I had a very hard time figuring out how to properly figure out the colour for the eyes. I'm not really sure how to do them so I'd really appreciate it if someone can can me some tips/advice about it.
