Exploring shapes and value at the moment, my approach to this will be the idea that light, or good and bad, can vary depending on ones perspective. I will be exploring a character that could potentially be striving to achieve their light while not necessarily being considered as a "good" by all.

Lets see where this goes!

In this piece so far i am going for the idea of a character that has been through many rough patches and though he has achieved success and wealth, his overall motives can be seen as selfish by some

His facial hair and exaggerated facial proportions make me smile! The costuming and straps and hair and what we can see on the back feels very steampunk, but currently the arm pieces (shields?) feel very futuristic. But you're still early in development. Good luck with the rest, and have fun!

So it's cool you're thinking about the history of your character but what about his role? What does he do and why do people rely on him to do it? How can you bring that across clearly in his silhouette?

Further advancing on the character,
Will elaborate more on his story and idea behind his design soon, as i have to run to work but here is the current look! He uses magnetism from his arms to fight!

I like the style. The painting is very good particularly in his hands. nteresting idea that if somebody who "works" for the light, not necessary to be good. Love it.

This looks cool, but we probably shouldn't see the green cross that much at that angle if the sizes are the same with the blue one

Interesting character! The shape of the design and render are looking solid, may be try to consider using a color palette. Nice work!

Hey! Thanks everyone for the feedback nd taking the time to look at my work!
Currently this is where the guy is at.

In regards to his story.
The contest is light and dark. but for this case i am thinking what if one where to work for the light but not necessarily out of being "good"? since being good tends to very depending on perspective.
So! in regards to the story i am thinking he is a form of head of company that focuses on providing protection to beings from the light from those the dark (or possibly even their own competition from the light).
This guy has resources, and money, but it is still a "classic man" at heart and thereby decides to dress and look the way he does.
he does not have a full on armored suit as i picture him as some form of character that operates from the head of the company, without getting too "dirty", but when it comes down to it, he puts on his equipment and lays down some serious power.
Oh! he has a gold tooth? something lost in a fight? what better way to replace it than by some beautifully shinny gold?

Anyway, let me know what you guys think! i am currently working on some movement studies from him.
