Hey there! excited to start this challenge, and I'm looking forward to what other entries everyone is cooking up!
Pretty new to these forums, participated in the first art wars but had no time to finish it unfortunately, but i'm in untill the end for this one.

I'll post the character sheet and final illustration here and post other sketches in the comments

Anyway, I have done a few exploration sketches, and I will pick the dark side, because they have cookies of course!

So here are the thumbnails I did and a little color exploration
I'm trying to get the right vibe, the designs themselves are purely for fun and to explore some visual elements that I like.

I made up my mind and I will be going with an evil warlord who has claimed an old magical sword for himself, the sword is broken and blunt, but has the ability to control creatures such like the wyvern shown in this sketch. Controlling living things with this sword will make them decay over time.

I'll write some proper lore about him but I will be sticking with this concept.

Really love the look of the flaming cat creature. Would be cool to see a champion who isnt bipedal.

yeah that would actually be pretty cool, gonna play around with it, and maybe just add him as a companion to my champion if that's allowed

I love them all they are so wonderful, i like the dark feline one best but i think its because of the fact i can see the face and it has an extra color,that makes it pop out also its kind of cute even tho its evil! cant wait to see what you do next good luck!

Nice colors, the shift makes them pop more and gives them way more of a creepy vibe. Good luck on continuing the process!

I hope this doesn't miss up your plan for the illustration, but you have to show at least 80% of your main character body.
Overall this is a solid piece. Nice use of brush strokes and the materials are easily recognizable.
