Hey Artwar Soldiers :wink:
here are afew early concepts for my Darkness character.

Shes supposed to be a devilish character with a demonic aura. So far I really like the Alice band on the left but I might change everything. C & C is highly demanded!

If you do decided to change things, don't change the face. It looks awesome. I encourage more exploration if you believe it will help. I do like the japanese influences with kimono and the horns on the character. Depicting a dark aura in the illustration can be awesome as well. Best of luck to you.

Thank you malcom. I will definitly explore the horns a lot more. : ) what do you think about the alice band on the left and the face tattoo?

If you were to keep it, I recommend giving it a brush stroke feel to it. Kinda like this.

I also like the fact she doesn't have eyebrows. It works in her favor.

Maybe you could work a bit on her silhouette to make her stand out and be very well readable (:

I took a step back and evaluated the accessories on her head. I want to give her a demonic feel with these so i tried to use similar shapes like the devils horns. She should also still have something from a pure holy goddess.

In a few minutes Ill upload some more stuff I already worked on. The problem with the E version is that the whole design is based on simple forms so thes root like horns would really stand out...oooor because of that it gives a great contrast :smile: Ill Try It!!!

Some concepts for her cloth. Im not really sure where Im going with this. My idea was to create a mix between a kimono and a priests robe. Feedback is highly appreciated.

looks nice ! the face is awesome !
but i would try to use some contrast in your costume. like atm its just a coat hanging down but maybe you could try to show some legs or parts of the arms to show more body tight clothing or add some other materials .for example small metal parts as armor to add more interest to your design.

working on exactly that at the moment : ). The problem with showing her body is that she is something like a priest and I really really dont want this sexy evil chick kinda thing with her. But on the other hand I think it would be great to show her skin (which is completly black btw). Do you have an idea where exactly to show that skin?

Perhaps either make her coat a short one (so show of her dark skinned legs), or create a low cut back design? Do love the vibe of the designs!

Here are a few more versions of her. Also I thought about a quick story to really get into my characters perspective and therefore making the design fitting her character more.

Story (real quick summary) :smile: :
Before realizing her own ability she suffered from not really having a voice and nobody really caring about her. When she understood her power she wanted to be someone whos respected and adored by other people, almost like a goddess. Gaving away her soul by influencing other peoples souls she didnt even realize how demonic she had become.

hey malcom. im still in the design phase. these have nothing to do with the final illustration yet. The illustration part is also gonna be super hard for me because Im really not good with illustrations at all :smiley: . Sketches and Thumbnails for the Composition are coming next so Im really looking forward to hear some critique from you then. : )
