Black and gold has also been a favorite color combination of mine, i think this armor design is improvement from the last iteration, since the gold is used more as a way to guide the eye through the costume, also the new bottom half brings a better design balance. i wonder what the outfit would look like without the mask?
While the weapon is unique, i do have a hard time imagining how it would work unless used like a two-section staff...
