First time entering a competition, even though I'm late to the party I hope I can still make it.

I have picked Light as my topic.

My champion shall be man of faith who was corrupted by the forces of the dark gods, but he's still clinging to the light even at these darkest hours.
He's personality might not be standing on lawful good anymore since the corruption is seeping into he's unconsciousness.

I have been doing some sketches for reference what I'm trying to make out of the champion.

Design is starting to get there but things might change a lot during the creation progress.

Here's some early concepts I made when I started working on the idea. I knew I wanted to make some sort of religious symbolism in it.

I wanted to go with more priest/cultist look so I started designing these.

I liked the idea of corruption that is eating away the holy man, so I made more metal eating away the flesh look.

After few tests I wanted to keep the wing on him instead of making some other symbol next to the sun.
Also having sun on both sides felt like the design started to look too symmetrical and since the robotics are eating away the left side, I wanted it to have it's own design there.

And so this is the final sketch I did before starting the sculpting process.
I will post WIPs as soon as I get the rough sculpt base done.

Found some time to make base mesh so I can start designing the metallic bits.
I used old base mesh I made a year ago and modified it from buff roided up dude into this skinny base mesh.

So next is starting to block out the metal bits, after that clothing.
Once those steps are done I can do some re-evaluating and see what needs to be changed.

Huuh, quite busy with stuff at office but still managed to get back into sculpting this thing.
I will finish the metal pieces and clothing before end of the week so I have at least some change to make it in time. ^^*

On the meanwhile here's some rough wips of the leg progress.

Unfortunately other things have been keeping me away from this, but I will at least try to finish the model before this weekend over.
