Automatic resizing of uploaded pictures

Hi everyone!

As you may have noticed, sometimes a picture gets scaled down when uploaded on the forum. Since the forum handles thousands of images, it has a maximum file size of a single picture and anything above it will be scaled down to fit the limit.

Unfortunately this can also happen to your Final Art War images.

So what can you do?
You need to re-upload the image with a file size below 2.4 MB. Save in a different format, compress it a bit or make the image a bit smaller dimensions-wise.

Check your images after you upload them!

Just a reminder, for Art War 2 the dimensions you need are:
Final Illustration / Image: at least 2048 pixels in height or width
Concept Sheet: exactly 2048x2048 pixels

The colours on my submission look different. Looks fine opened in photoshop, but putting it up on cubebrush it looks like the saturation (or brightness) has been turned up. It's jpeg image in rgb, 1.97Mb 2048 X2048 and looking at it on the same screen.
Is it just me?

@moirae does this happen when you save as png? Jpegs are not great at holding color when uploaded (and scaled), even on facebook or other platforms.

I can't get the image below 5MB and keep it at 2048 X 2048, even at 72dpi when saving as a png

EDIT: Put a compressed png up, not really much difference, being slightly brighter doesn't make too much difference I suppose.

@moirae I see. Sorry I couldn't be more help, the technical side of compressing images is beyond my expertise.

If you'd think the brightness difference is too drastic and would impede your chances at the competition, you can upload another version of your picture on an external site and post it below your final entry, explaining the problem.
