@Prinzmoana The title of it was “old friends”. There wasn’t really a story for the world behind it per say, other than it was a nomadic, hoarding treasure goblin.
It was a random thumbnail composition where I saw the whole scene unfold in my mind. As it developed I started drawing him a bunch of little animal friends around the piece. I wanted it to be filled with things for the viewer to discover. My favorite kind of pieces I find interesting are the type that reward the viewer’s ‘lengthy’ stare. Seeing things the second or third time you look at it. Some people don’t like that and find it too busy.
I used to think that the value was in the picture itself, giving the viewer more time with the picture, with things to look upon
However, there is something about it where the viewers brain takes over the story and starts imagining the relationships of the bits and bobs and animals in the frame.
That’s where the magic is. Making people day dream.
