very nice Cedric! in traditional media I can only paint house with the tree and smiley sun xD

1 month later

@Frygidal That's a classic subject! I want to see that now XD I think in the end traditional art skills feeds your digital skills and digital skills feeds your traditional skills. And seeing that you have nice skills in digital arts, I think you're selling yourself a bit short. It's just about taking the time to try out various mediums and finding the ones that suits you best.

Alright, so here's my first gesture drawings since the beggining of the year I believe. So I,m really rusty. I'm planning to do thirty 30 seconds poses every day for the next month. I don't think I ever did that and I'm interested to see the change that will happen in one month, if any.

Here's also a new drawing of nature. This time it's rocks. I started as a hatching exercise, but I thought it's be nice to turn it into a "finished" picture so I added some quick colors and shading. I call it "Love Rocks".

Oh and I guess I forgot to post this ear study I made in pastels last month. So there you go

Day 2 of gesture drawings. I'm not sure if I should keep posting those gestures daily or if I should post them every few days when I have multiple sessions done. We'll see!

Your line control precision is so so good. I am very curious how your gesture drawing will evolve as you practice it daily. Maybe post a comparison: 1st attempt and week later?

line precision is really nice like Vika says but I would focus less on anatomy when doing gestures, all these bumps for muscles just slow you down and some of them just asks for long flowy lines

Actually I couldn't resist and de-lined some of the poses to pass the idea, hope it is any helpful

Thank you @WeirdOwl and @Frygidal! These drawovers are actually really helpful. I'll try to implement this concept in my next ones

Day 3! I tried to apply @Frygidal suggestions and it was a struggle, haha! Despite being "simpler" I had a much harder time with these one. There's a few I really like though, so that's nice

Oh and I saw your suggestion @WeirdOwl . I thought about doing a comparison between the very first one and the very last one, but I guess I could also do a weekly comparison.

I think the weekly level up would be fun. Also I see Peter's advice is working well for you
You could also try with first indicating the line of action, then adding all the other parts. Peter has it in his gesture very clear.

The first week is almost done. As @weirdowl suggested I'll do the comparison between the first one of this week and the last one tomorrow.

Day 4

Day 5

Day 6

Day 7

And with one week gone, here's the progress (or regression :joy: ) from the first gesture I did this week with the last one I did.
