Good monday everyone!!
For me today was a but tragic hahah do you have that days when everything that you draw just, sucks? :joy: Maybe is due to the fact that today was super rainy and I'm a bit metereopatic I don't know hahah

I decided to follow the study schedule but I failed, a lot :joy: as lots of mondays during this art school when I try to do new things hahah

Here there are just some gesture drawings, hope to post something better tomorrow

These look really great! They really capture the gestures very clearly! :raised_hands:
Also, you were much more productive than me today haha

Another day, another "shitty" day hahah I think that the art schedule is too advanced for me, maybe I need to focus more one single thing for a period instead of doing every sort of study in one week, but at least I tried hahah

Here is an azaro head and a try to replicate a studio ghibli environment, pretty bad but we could get better  I need to find a tutorial online hahah

You have really great eye for colors Chiara, that bounce light on the tree looks awesome, but you use only soft brush, I will kil you  I think with more hard eges it would look like from the movie!

Chiara I agree with Peter, it's nice to do the overall paint with a soft brush, but at some point the painting needs some crisp details. It's ok if you don't like some sharp edges, those could always be smudged with a blend brush.

I really love this environment. And please be gentle with yourself. I know days can seem shitty and hard, I feel them too. But take the work at the pace you need to. I took the schedule Marc built and altered it a bit....

Days like Mon & Wed. where it says gesture and anatomy. that can mean the human form or an environment. Both have a gesture and an anatomy to build them properly. And then after first hour I make sure to do at least 3 of the blocks from each day. And I get to fill them in however I like, and I know that all the work means progress. Having it freeform has allowed me to create what I like but still move through the terms at a good pace. I give myself the room to grow, and not force myself down a path.

There are some days were I do all classes all the blocks. Others where I do all personal all day. each Hour I complete I fill in what I did, and then change the color to bright blue.

here is a completed week.

this way I can track my progress and really feel good about what I am doing. And as long as I can fill in the color on 3 or more blocks a day I know I am moving forward at a good pace.

I hope this helps you. Like I said, ....be gentle with yourself and don't let the journey get you down. You are doing great.

Ohh @ghostmonst3r this is a very good time table!! Even If usually I don't work so much on my personal art, actually it depends if I have a specific project or not. like some weeks I just focus on a project 7 days on 7 hahah but now I don't feel so, good now :joy: in terms of be satisfied with my art.

I should maybe do something like you've done, and also think what to do because I've finished to watch all the class lessons and I'm a bit lost right now :joy: probably I will restart to follow the important topics and going into deep.

And thank you for having shared this!! it has helped me and maybe could help somebody else watching this topic

So :joy: today a bit of anatomy. Some fast sketchy ones and then 2h hours of hands and feets, never done anything like this before hahaha it was actually really funny

And then I tried to study the works of "Sakimi Chan" that I've found on the cubebrush's tutorials. Maybe her girls are too hot for me :joy: but I love how she renders them. What turned out was not super good (like her face is... no comment hahah) maybe I will buy one of her tutorials one day.

Hi Chiara,
oh my good you are so hardworking and productive... I'm so ashamed that I'm still not really making progress because of time constraints, but I'm so happy that you're making so much progress.
Yes Sakimi chan's drawings are also not quite mine but her way of coloring is really great, I had already thought about getting one or the other tutorial from her but I'm still inconclusive. I think at least you did a great job for the first try.
Don't find that her face has gotten bad either. In any case, you have captured the body plastically well, Maybe deeper/darker shadows would be better for a deeper plasticity? Anyway you did a super job here and your understanding of anatomical drawing has become damn good😭🤩

I am always up for some collaboration for fun projects too. I would be up for working on some things with you, if you feel you may need a push to come up with something new. I can feel your energy. You are feeling a bit lost. I can tell because you are unsure of the art path you may want to take. Everything sounds kind of exciting but your not sure if that what you want to do. 2D game art? Tattoos? Illustration? I have seen you get excited by a lot of things.

Going back through the lessons I think would be a good idea. Maybe take them in subjects, instead of terms. like go back and do all the stuff on perspective and environment, then maybe just do anatomy, then zbrush only, etc.

I am entering into a Legend of Zelda art challenge this month, and you know I am always doing outside courses mixed in with my stuff here at ArtSchool. You are always welcome to join me on those projects. Just hit me up and ask me what outside stuff I am doing, and if it sounds fun, I can fill you in on details.

thank you so much @Vampamingo!! Even If I'm not feeling as productive as I would like hahah
And don't be harsh on you with progress, I think that everyone has that feeling inside. I think that the importance is to try to appreciate the journey even if it's just at the beginning and you can't see lots of changements, just my opinion  And for the plasticity probably you're right, thank you for the advice

And yes @ghostmonst3r it would be a pleasure for me to collaborate together!! Also doing some challenges like the translucent character challenge on the forum gives me an intense creativity boost :joy:
And thanks for the advice, I think that I will focus during some months until the end of the year on character, evironments and, other things hahah and then understand better what I want and start creating my portfolio, hopefully

@IndrawnArt the fact is that I lost my job with coronavirus and It's actually difficult to find another one in this period, so this is my main thing right now  :see_no_evil: I would like to do even more but, I don't know my crativity has decreased during the past few weeks. Hope to get it back hahah

Today some forms and light studies and some man made structures. I also went back to my sketchbook (I haven't touched traditional for a while ) and maybe finishing it before 2021. Hope that you will like it :relaxed: and if you have any advice or ideas on how to fill it I will totally appreciate that hahaha

Wow Chiara your volumes read so well it almost look like a render from 3d software  and I love all these buildings, they have a soul <3 I think environments are really your thing! (your anatomical studies weren't bad at all! xD I just think it hmm... shines through what you like doing most)

Those buildings are the best! Especially the two horizontal panels. Oh, that looks like such a cool environment.
Also, you made me feel guilty for not having a sketchbook. I don't like doing traditional art :sob:
I, like Peter, think environments are your strongest suite so far.

really love those little buildings and structures

Rabbit turned out really cute and mannequins are pretty good as well for anatomy I think you need to study front legs some more, especially how tibula is placed in the leg, rest is really neat.

For environments check Tyler Edlin, he has nice style and make only them, Idk how good his tutorials are tho so it's for you to explore the subject
