Hello everybody.
My name is Chris and this is my ArtBlog on which I will attempt to post as frequently as possible, I have been drawing for less then a year or so and told myself that I would start posting after a year of me taking drawing seriously but I'm taking the advice from other artists I follow and starting sooner rather then later, so I will be using this blog to archive my progress. I am open to any critique no matter how small if you take the time to type it. If you think your critique is to small to matter think again because I will take in consideration any and all of them.

A work in progress of a random viking girl, still trying to workout what the other arms should be doing and the legs need some work, any tips you wan't to give I will be happy to read them.

Welcome to the forums! I'd love to see a finished version of this. I think you're off to a great start. You got some really nice fur rendering.

You have a good start. The sketch is nice, doing another, more detailed lineart over it could be fun... and then maybe taking it even further with values and color.

Had some time to work on my viking girl peace, so here is an update, changed up the face because I wasn't feeling the last one and some other stuff too.

Nice to see you going on with the values! Don't stop with the outfit, do the sking and hair too:)

There are two highlights on the shield... cap? I don't know what is the proper word for that part;) I think there is one too much. Even if you wish to play with reflected light, one highlight (from the main light source) should be brighter than the other.

With the values in, the fur looks even better. And the face is of a beautiful shieldmaiden, well done!

Thanks for the feedback, I definitely agree that 2 highlights are to many, I don't know how I missed that I guess I just put the second one in while rendering and forgot that I don't have a second light source in mind.

You did get yourself a workload with the corrupt raven! Combining bird and human anatomy, enough background that it requires you to account for perspective and heavy duty lighting... You must be really angry with yourself;)

If you are open to critique, i'd do easyer stuff first (as i am doing now after failing several times to do a complex masterpiece), like human figures, animal studies, perspective drawings (not with trees, these are so difficult to draw), special paintings to exercise light and reflection...

The character is scarry, the detail with the doll is a nice touch to it and the background does give that spooky feeling i believe you were trying to achieve.
