Comic Cover Competition: Shattered Light

This year we challenge you with a brand new art contest! We’ve teamed up with Clip Studio Paint to bring the best out of artists around the world. 🔥Create a comic/manga cover that’s too good to leave on a shelf and win awesome prizes!

The time of wars seems to be over, and the people have found their old way of life back, hopeful for a peaceful future. But there are whispers of a relentless force creeping closer from the shadows. Can you bring order to these Shattered Lights?
We follow the story of the main character who’s seen the ravages that war leaves behind and what champions are capable of.

Hi
Can I ask some questions, I am a creator of a webtoon, and it's published, can I make a cover for that webtoon, or should I make a xover for another comic that was never published?

It must be a cover for a story that hasn't been published yet. A fresh start!

I'm being tick. I really know I am.

Fresh Art - yes, get that. My own style - god help you all but yes, I get that too.

The storyline description - is that our guide/art direction to take the piece? Or can we ignore it all together and go for flying robots in outer space?
The Title - are we supposed to use Shattered Lights as the title? The rest of the brief doesn't seem to suggest that, but then why call the competition that?

I my defence I would like to say I am not really a thick person like this. Too many graphic design contracts, that's my problem. My briefs are watertight (design briefs. Stop laughing). This one is maybe a bit more "artistic" than I'm used to.

I'll leave you alone now. Sorry again.

Dx

hello there ... good luck as well ... quick question, where should we post our stuff? under finished artworks as a new theme or in our art blog? I got some prefinished pieces I would like to share (I do post them im my art blog for now)

Hi Paul, the final piece should be posted on social media with #CubebrushCSP and @ Cubebrush. Showing your progress is always a good idea too!
Good luck with the competition!

@kigerneko I don't really am active on social media (I acually don't have any accounts, except here of course) ... Would it be ok to open a theme under finished pieces with "Comic Cover" as title?

I'm afraid that wouldn't qualify you for the competition. What you could do is, make a social media account, use the tags and delete it after the competition is over and the winner has been announced.

Nah it's fine ... I wasn't in for the prices anyway, the process was my goal ... I post my finished one under my blog and under my finished artworks for anyone interested ... happy inking for the rest still competing

@kigerneko It says the contest is over on the 6th of April. Does that mean all submissions need to be uploaded by 11:59pm April 5th, or will submissions be accepted on April 6th?

We will accept submissions on 6 April before 23:59 PDT! :no_mouth:

Hello,

It's been a little over two months since the due date for the competition.

I was wondering if we could just get an update on the status.

Also, I tagged my instagram post appropriately on april 5th and It posted and tagged correctly, but I don’t see it now under the hashtag. I don’t know how to correct this issue if it hasn’t been judged yet and participants posts aren’t showing up it might be an issue.
