I was wondering if someone could give me some pointers/critique on the basic head balls MB shows in term 2's anatomy, specifically on
1) Cheek curve guidelines
2) Curving the centerlines from the top/bottom
3) giving the side-circles enough space so my front plane doesn't feel too froggy (all stretched out)
(A) feels really round and I'm not sure if i didn't slice off a large enough side plane. On both A and B I'm uncertain if I'm supposed to draw the cheek guide for the far side that connects from the eyeline to the chin (shaded in with red) or if the exterior curve is suppoed to be the far cheek.
(B) Any critiques you can offer, feel free to share.
For (C), does the 2/3 circle rule always apply even if the perspective changes? Like say if the head is tilted really up or down, you'd mostly just see the bottom/top, correct?
(D) is why I'm concerned about the previous 3. D feels most "right" compared to the other 3 and I'm not sure why A and B feel more rounded than oval like D is.
Apologies if any of my questions are unclear, and for the old-school scanning, I just want to understand these head-balls and work out any bugs in my understanding of them. Also if anyone had any tips or experiences they can share about problems they ran into when the first tried mastering these balls, I'd love to hear them because I for one still feel like I'm drawing blind when it comes to curving the center line or brow-line around the imaginary surface of the ball and I'd love to hear if anyone found a good trick for "getting it" that worked for them. Thanks!
