Ohh I understand!

Personally, drawing has always been easier for me. Sometimes I suddenly get an image in my head and then the hardest part is making it a reality, but when it comes to stories it is much more complicated.

But I love reading and I've learned a lot from all the stories I've read over the years. I just wonder how authors manage to create a coherent story, as it's not something that comes so easily to me, unlike pictures.

But I think I'm getting the hang of it!

Hello again! Sadly I did get sick so I had to take a few days off, but I managed to do the assignments for week 3!

I don't usually draw animals, so this was a big challenge for me!

I tried using several references for muscles, but honestly it was very confusing. Then I realized that many muscles were similar in different animals, so understanding that helped me a little bit.

I wanted to try making a fantasy creature, but I really had no idea what to do lol

I ended up going for something that might look like an alien. I also wanted it to look like a mouse, so I made it small and round. I think the fur makes it look cuter, and I gave it hair because it looked silly. I also think the colors match really well, so I'm proud of that as well ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ

My cold is gone and I don't feel sick anymore! so I can finally work normally and I'll be back next week!

Hey! It's great to hear you're feeling well again!

All them exercices look great! That critter could easily pass for a pokemon. Looks very cute!

Glad you are feeling better!

Aww these are all so adorable!

Hello! It's time for week 4! There was only one thing that I needed to do, but it took me so long to get it right I even had a nightmare about it lol

For this week I needed to sculpt a full body, so I used this photo as a reference.

This time around I did watch some videos to understand how other people sculpted body parts, and also learn shortcuts and get some advice.

The shortcuts were really tricky, sometimes they did work, but sometimes they didn't?? I didn't really understand why, after playing around a bit I got them to work...sort of?

I thought about taking pictures of the whole process, but as the hours passed I forgot about it so I don't have many photos to share.

This is how the body looked like at first. I tried to put everything into place before working on the details so I think I did pretty good, and the feet looked very funny lol

I added the hands at the end because I was scared to do them at first, and I also had a lot of work to do on the arms.

My biggest challenge was definitely the head. Drawing a real face is hard, but sculpting it can be even trickier. I was using other pictures of the model as a reference, but I realized that my face and hers were very different, so I gave up and tried to make something that looked decent.

I also added too much detail while making it and then Blender almost crashed a couple of times. So, later I had to redo it because the model needed a lower quality and that removed a lot of those details from her face.

So I guess I spent too much time making the head for nothing ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Here's the pose in three different angles. I think I did a good job on the body and the hands actually turned out better than I expected, yayyyy!

Although I had a small problem, I'm not sure how, but there is a small connection between the two legs. I tried my best to get rid of it, but none of the things I tried really worked, so I gave up and worked on other parts of the body.

Then I realized that I could have prevented it from happening, but it was too late and I had already completed most of the body so oh well.

I think the head was the only thing that didn't come out so well, it doesn't look anything like the reference, but at least I tried.

Although I started having nightmares about the sculpture, I actually learned quite a bit while working on it, and honestly it was pretty fun too.

While I was doing this assignment I started seeing a lot of videos and pictures of things that can be done in Blender and it caught my attention. I had never thought about working with 3D modeling, but now that I tried it and saw what people can do maybe I will give it a go in the future ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-

Oh! and my little fantasy creature does look like a pokemon (O_O)!

8 days later

Hello again! I took a break last week to focus on some personal projects, but I completely forgot to share my work for week 5!

I have been feeling much more happy with my figure drawing practices. I remember that when I started I had a lot of difficulties, but as time has passed I have learned a lot and I feel more comfortable doing it.

I also did some studies on hybrid animal creatures. I found it very interesting how some artists have the creativity to create so many interesting animals. I'm not exactly the best at drawing animals, but I hope I can train my brain to do amazing things like that.

I was doing something different at first, but I thought it would be better to leave that idea for week 7.

I looked at some pictures of animals and decided to make the ones I liked the most. So I made a rabbit, a fox, a sheep and for the last one I tried to do something from my imagination, but unfortunately my ideas weren't very good.

I think what I find most difficult is that I don't really have too many ideas for making animals, and even though I try to look at several illustrations it doesn't help me much.

But I'll try to do something better for next week! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
