I really like the illustration you made and I can't really think much that should be changed. I guess you could add a blowhole on the whale? Followed by a little bit darker background and a reflection in the water? However the illustration the way it is currently looks really nice.

I really like the sail/fabric thats billowing by the boat, its a very nice way to anchor the viewers attention to the piece just by simply having a small bit of orange against all the blue.

With what veroxid said, i think the tail could use a bit more polishing. It's a bit of a harsh turn and makes it look more like a paper figure than organic. Maybe having the main body turn a little more to make the transition to the bends a bit smoother? Only around where the tail connects with the body area so you don't have to do any large edits and see how that looks.

Other than that the piece is looking fantastic, I look forward to seeing your progress.

I think I managed to finally finish this piece. Thank you so much for your feedback. Had lots of feedback from @Shia as well. As you can see now the tail has changed, the bubbles are clouds now and some other small changes were made. The tail got connected to the body more smoothly but there's a cloud in front of that now, heh.

Sorry for the low quality photo. Don't want it to be sold by Ebay people. The texture in the water is real, though.

It might just be my screen, but the top of the whale is all but invisible to me against the blue background. Was that intentional? Is it meant to be appearing from the darkness?

It was meant to be coming from a darker (not darkness) and more distant spot but it isn't my intention to make it look smooth because I focused on the atmosphere and bigger picture more. It's a sketch and practise that got out of hand and my intention didn't come across the way i had hoped.

I like the bottom of the two. I find the strong contrast with the light and sharp silhouettes makes it an interesting image. Nice to see the variation and that you are implementing feedback.

Still a sketch... kinda. Took a picture of my sketch and imported it into Photoshop and traced the lion.
I could really use your feedback, especially for the person at the bottom. He's supposed to be overwhelmed and terrified, but I can't really put the picture in my head on paper.
Any tip, paintover or whatever is as always welcome

Where are your vanishing points in this piece?
The ambiguous mass of clouds gives us no real reference point to work from. If there were walls, rocky stalagmites, etc the upward, towering angle would be more apparent and we would have a frame of reference. At the moment it could be a normal sized lion trying to eat ant man, there is nothing else in the image to tell us otherwise.
Photo reference I think is the key for the scared figure, maybe from film stills of characters in a similar situation? Bilbo and Smaug for example.

Hey, sup kiger. I really like your color combos and the tones. I realize this is horribly late hahaa but i still wanted to help as best as i could.

ok Im not sure if the whale was meant to be the focal point or the boat. But it seems like the whale has discovered this human on a boat. So with this first example i would recommend having the whale's face point toward the boat instead of to the left side of the painting. I get that the whales left eye is the light source, but idk It feels like the two illustrations contrast to me.

But if you really want to keep the face in the same position I would recommend thinning out the back a bit and erasing the tale so it looks like he just flew in between those aurora lines.

Thanks a lot for the paint over! But it's a bit too late now. I've already handed in the illustration and it was approved although they thought the water was too still. I really like your second idea! But the first idea was something I tried out before and although it was the picture I had in my mind it kinda broke the composition. One side got too "heavy" and the whale couldn't fit inside the frames.
I won't change it again because I lost the original .psd file and this illustration has had its purpose.

Would love to get feedback on the anatomy and pose. I know the hands are a bit off and I don't care about them while I'm having difficulties drawing the breasts. And usually I only draw male bodies so this is extra challenging for me.

I like the stylyzed look and how clean your lines are ^^
The pose is nice and not stiff, which is good, though whithout seeing where is she actually standing, it feels, like she just tripped over something cause of the twist going on with her legs and left ankle especially. Anatomicaly I think the knees need a little fix, especially the right one. Don't know if i can explain it right, but the right knee has a really weird edge on the side of the leg, where it looks like if the leg was made of two separate pieces.
Hope my opinion helps in some way I am definitely interested in the final result, if this is going to be a finalized character at some point ^^

Thanks! I see what you mean! I'll make the changes and add a line or shadow. My idea is to make several poses. One front, back, action and a couple of close ups of her face or maybe an alternate version of her.

Overall the 'just' of it is all there, but there's minor anatomical fixes that can be done. I'd be willing to do a quick paint over of a few things and try and illustrate a few others.

@eckzein @Iago_Cavalcante Thanks for the help! xD It's a bit difficult figuring out what you wrote on the side but I'll try my best : ) I've already changed the pose quite a bit and tomorrow i'll use a good reference for the anatomy. The hands were just rushed.
