@mdashow Yes, 2048 can be the bigger of the two dimensions.
But, if you ant to make the picture bigger without forum scaling it down, you need to make the file size smaller - save in a different format, compress it a bit or make the image a bit smaller (which you did). Hope this helps

When you say we can't use any photos, does that include texturing a figure?

It needs to be hardly noticeable that you used them. For example, you
can't have the textures do most of the work in 'rendering' your final
illustration.

This isn't an ArtWar question per se, but I wasn't sure where else to ask it:

I've noticed in the past few days that the notification feature - ie the little bell, third icon from the right on the top right of the site UI - isn't working any more. It tells me I have some number of notifications, but then i click on it, it hangs forever and never opens. I can never actually find out what notifications I have. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, i just wanted to make sure the admins knew about it. Thanks!

Hey, I was just wondering if there is any rule about backdrop/environment detail?

I'm submitting for the 2D Category and my Character will be 100% in view, but filling up around 30% of the canvas. I've got an idea for a detailed scene that my character sits in, I was just wondering if there's a limit on environment detail or anything like that?

Really looking forward to seeing everyone's submissions!

I am having a bit of trouble with this. I have done saving it as a different format: jpeg and png. I have even tried making the image smaller as well. It just uploads smaller than the previous one. What am I doing wrong?

@comiclab your file size is still too high - 2.35 MB, you need to bring it down a bit.

Hey, got a question about concept sheet.
Does it have to be 100% accurate to the character in illustration. I mean what if i change let's say small accessories color in illustration, then do i have to change it in concept sheet? Also character in concept sheet has to be fully rendered or just to see the design?

@comiclab hey, no problem (: Around 2.3 MB or so is the most the forum will take without resizing.

@gavnarrr well, the concept art should match the illustration. The judges wont go nitpicking every detail, but having too different concept art just defeats the purpose of having it at all.
As for the render - you don't have to render both views in 100% meticulous detail, but don't forget that it's just as much part of the submission as the final image. Having the concept sheet look undone will probably not look well.
Look at last war contestants (and winners) to find that neat spot in the middle
