Awesome contest for the end of the year , it's like a christmas gift before the date ! thanks to the cubebrush team.
My question is : If i want to participate to both challenges (2D & 3D), do I have to make two separate concepts ? Or can i develop only one from the beginning to the end in 2D then in 3D ?
This will be a stunning Contest. Thank you @marc for the awesome Community opportunity.
This is an awesome way to end the year!
I have some ideas but I might bump into some rules that won't allow for it.
I want to enter the 3D contest but with a story, illustrating more than one character however still within bounds of having a champion and a war between the two styles. So does it have to be 1 character?
And does it have to be game models with UV's and normals etc? I've seen a quick answer to this question but it was still not 100% clear to me, my apologies...
Look forward to seeing some works!
Hey! As far as 3D and photo textures go in the 2D category, it needs to be hardly noticeable that you used them.
For example, you can't have the textures do most of the work in 'rendering' your final illustration. Also, obviously you can't just place a 3D character in a 2D environment and call it a 2D illustration. Essentially, 3D can be used as a base to get the sense for lighting/forms, but not visible in the final (you can paint over it, though).
It would probably be best, to be safe, to just use both as reference and not included in the final illustration.
Hope all this makes sense. Best of luck to you!

The rule is that you can only enter once in a category. So feel free to enter once in both categories (2D/3D) if you wish!
*Just refrain from posting 1+ entry posts in either category!
Hello! It doesn't have to be just one character, but it has to be obvious who the 'hero' is! You can include side/support (or enemy) characters in your concept sheet/illustration.
As far as UV's go, it's not required for submission! If you're able to showcase the model with textures and everything to present it as you'd like, you're set! Hope this cleared up some confusion.
@marc i did'nt understand the procedure to create a new topic
and where do i create it
