@Julia_J I was trying to give the impression that the hairs were sticking out of the face rather than hanging down but maybe I took it a bit too far on the upper lip .
I was going to start the 3 point perspective stuff today but alas I got sidetracked once again.
I started with this idea about doing some sort of semi futuristic templar/paladin type character with really big extra hands that were sort of attached by an exoskeleton type thing.
At this point I started thinking about how an exo-skeleton would actually function around the arm joints so I looked up a bunch of mech and power suits and trying to figure out how to draw something that could actually function around the human elbow joint. I ended up disregarding the whole extra hands thing in the end and just went with a big ol' gauntlet. I like the idea but it just wasn't working for me on paper.
I liked where the gauntlet design was going so I slapped it onto my drawing and rolled with it from there. I ended up moving the pauldron to the opposite side to try and give it a bit more balance. Overall I'm happy with where this is headed.
edit: Started my final line work. Spent way longer than I'd like to admit trying to get her hand and the angle of the sword right. I might try to finish the lines over the weekend so I can start the perspective thing next week.
