ohh i cant wait to see more 100 heads is daunting at first but once you get into the flow of things its pretty fun to test out new ways to draw the head

Hopefully! Let's see where this goes

This is a piece for a DTIYS I participate in!

Very nicely rendered! Haven't really thought too much about a specific style, other than emulating some of the ones I admire. Seems it comes naturally as you continue to learn and develop arts.

Thanks a lot. And you're right.

I always admired their artstyle, along with other styles too. But it took me 3 1/2 years to say "Okay, I'd like to go with this."

But until then I experimented A LOT

No way there's another dgm fellow! You are rare, there's no escape from here anymore. I hope you're aware of that!

Woah, thank you so much for your kind words!! Makes me so happy to read that

A portrait of my oc I finished yesterday. I'm more than satisfied with the result here, especially the rendering. I drew this in order to have a 1 year comparison. Going to upload the difference here as well!

And here's the evolution of Evan. I've always wanted his face to get a little bit slimmer. Also his style changed a lot, I'm really into that golden clothes thing at the moment. I think the "just a normal guy" style fits him better!

This reaches from 2022 to 2024

A project I finished yesterday. It captures the depth of this characterā€™s psyche, how the inner world looks like when one is fighting with their own demons.

To give even more context here, he is an exorcist and he fights demons. With his red eye heā€™s got the ability to see their true souls.

What makes me proud of this one is that I doodled around until I was satisfied. I didnā€™t use any reference and it took me 3 hours to render it. Normally I need round about 6-8 hours for those type of works!

Oooh it looks great! Colors and rendering are so good! And the mood

Thanks a lot for your kind words!!

What really helped me was to have no expectations. In fact I was ready to make some bad art.

I recommend practicing this. You'll be surprised by your skills. I've heard professionals saying this too. Some quotes from professionals that inspired me:

"Don't be afraid to make bad art. In fact, most of my pieces suck. Just do whatever you feel like." - Cccinder

"The best pieces of mine are the one where I put least expectations in" -Sam does art

Awesome piece! The contrast of colors really highlights the face and eye.

Agreed with just drawing for the sake of it. Just doodling and painting for the fun of it is very relaxing and can result in some unexpectedly great works.

Thanks a lot!

Agreed. From my perspective it brings us back to the reason why we draw at all - because of simply feeling like it. Without judgement or expectations. It's only logical that the best pieces come from that mindset. Still hard to maintain in a long term of course. But we can do our best to do so!

Going to share some portrait studies and sketches from a while ago! I'm not comfortable with the guidelines/ workflow of mine so far so there's a lot of studies ahead!

Another portrait I finished today!
