Weekly Update #1

Oooh boii, we're doing the 1st Weekly update, and I decided to go with a weekly schedule just to see how it goes, if I don't like it then I'll find something that works well, trial and error.
As usual any feedback is appreciated.

Now starting off, I lost out on Monday and Tuesday cause we got Scabies.. I got very lucky so far, and haven't gotten any rashes or itching spots.. YET, but due to the infectiousness of Scabies we had to "quarantine" ourselves and avoid touching most items/objects in our house, unless we were wearing gloves, or covered it with paper bags.. This place has looked like a madhouse for some time now, it's kind of funny.
So drawing with 2 or 3 pairs of gloves wasn't very feasible, nor was it comfortable, and I just skipped out on those 2 days so we wouldn't need to endure this pest for so long.

Starting off with my Gestures, I'm starting to have more fun doing them as time goes by, but when doing 1 Minute gestures I find myself just sitting there with time left cause I don't know how to add volume to the characters, I could probably use the 1 Minute Sessions using the Force method, but then I'd need to learn it first, any tips here is appreciated!.

We're going by Date this time, starting with oldest. 5th October

This one had the same problem as my previous ones, poor visibility, don't worry I fixed that on these!
6th October
And as I mentioned, I get lost on the 1 Minute Poses, Adding form seems a bit daunting.

7th October

8th October

Now I'm skipping over to today, Monday 10th October cause I slept through basically the whole of Sunday, I don't know how but I'm amazed.

In terms of Construction, I didn't do much at all, I just feel like I understand the basics well enough, though doing a few constructions a day wouldn't hurt, Laziness won this time though and I only did 3.

Let's just jump straight into the Measuring Exercises, I started off doing 2 a day, then I slowed down to 1 due to my horrible ability to keep a normal sleeping schedule, I'm experiencing 1st hand how awful it is, take care of yourselves please, and don't do what I'm doing!.
Still going in order of old to new btw.

I also tend to just do random stuff here and there too, Hope it isn't too distracting, it it is then please let me know.

This last one was probably the closes I've ever been, However due to me measuring her Left shoulder (Our right) Wrong, I ended up with a messed up Left side. Also her breasts are a bit smaller in my version, I need lots of practice still.
I also just "censored" her private part, just in case a cameltoe would classify as NSFW.

And to finish things off I took 3 days and did 5 simple sphere shading exercises each day, I haven't gone into the shading of random shapes yet cause I didn't feel like my sphere shading was good at all.
Now it's a fair bit better, not as smooth as I probably could make it, but at the same time I also like the "texture" it has from MB's Smudger. Any feedback again is very much appreciated!.

I also haven't gone into proper light classes yet, so bounce/reflective light isn't something I fully understand.

Alright that'll do it for me for this week, or at least those 3-4 days I got to draw on.
Hope you all keep grinding those XP Points, without overdoing it!.
Much love to you !.

These are really good

Cheers!

Alright time for the 2nd Weekly Update, I admittedly didn't get much done at all, mainly due to me struggling with my 3 Point perspective Assignment, I just couldn't come up with anything interesting.

Starting off with Gesture Drawings.
I quit this session really early cause I was too eager to get my 3 Point Perspective Assignment done. And I skipped the 1 Minute session, I just didn't feel a need for it yet

These were complete sessions in no specific order.

I also tried the Force method with gesture drawing, I need a lot of work to improve, but it was a fun change of pace.

I did just a few Constructions too cause 3 Point Perspective.. Maan that had me ripping my hair out.

And only 1 Figure drawing, I'm really disappointed in myself here, I'll try my best to do more this week now that I have more time.

3 Point Perspective Assignment
Over to the massive Time sucker, 3 Point Perspective Assignment.
I did 3 Different attempts, though 2 were mostly just me trying out a few ideas before going back and finishing my 1st attempt.

And here's my finished 3PP Assignment. It went through a few minor changes that I felt didn't really fit into the finished drawing.
I would've added shading but I haven't figured out how to work with layers well yet, so I'll try that another time.

Thank you for checking in, and I hope you're getting those Art gains too!.

Awesome stuff, i like your line work for outlining the figure not going overboard, rather clean and clearly shows the volumes

As for three point, damn, that really looked like a lot of work, havenโ€™t gotten that far yet myself. Although I did notice the bridge, I think the part closer to the left should be a bit bigger than the part to the right as it would be closer to the viewer, but I could be wrong

Cheers

Hi CYP ... nice progress and effort u put in all ur sketches ... once u master the fundamentals nothing will stand in ur way to create ur own art and being confident as an artist ... keep it up

Thank you Snakker, really appreciate your feedback!, Though I have to ask, Which bridge are you mentioning?, that little suspension bridge or the main bridge/arch on the castle/wall thing?, I'm dying to see my mistake and fix it :stuck_out_tongue:

If it's the little suspension bridge then that's fully on me being lazy and just wanting to fill in that space with something more xp. Still thank you for seeing my mistake and helping me correct them!.

Thank you Paul!, The fundamentals are going to take a while to master, But in the end it'll be all worth it, Thank you for your encouraging words, and I can't wait to see more of your progress!.

Haha, no need to apologize!, I'm just happy that it was the small suspension bridge instead of the whole main castle arch cause that'd be a pain to fix.
Thank you so much for your feedback, you were 100% right, the closest part of that bridge was fairly smaller than the one further away, so I went back and fixed it, much appreciated!.

I'm just gonna go ahead and upload some last minute updates from today's drawing session, I might adopt a daily update schedule instead of weekly cause I tend to lose track of what I haven't posted and what I have.

All I did today was 1 almost full page of different perspective studies, and a few random Line weight practices.

I also went back to my 3 point perspective drawing and attempted to add some contrast between the castle/wall and the sky, just cause I felt like a purely white castle with a pure white sky didn't work so well. I also tried to add some very simple shadows around what I'd consider to be the most important parts of the wall.

I haven't started with light related studies yet so I'm bound to make mistakes here, Correct me if you please!.

And thanks to Snakker for letting me know my suspension bridge wasn't correct in terms of perspective!, I went back and changed simply using warp, quick and easy fix, though it still doesn't look fully right to me, Might go back tomorrow and fix it fully.

Glad I could help, looking good. Amazing how dramatically some shading can change an image
