Thanks @Pattu_w, @mitsuki-youko, @patrycja.lerch, @funslub1996 and everyone stopping by!
Got a bit of work done, been procrastrinatin on my programming work... will probably go at it hard this week.
Term 4 progress
Bit of gesture practice. Wanted to switch things up so decided to use some capcom characters for this one. They have very recognizable features and interesting poses.

I think you can recognize most of them.
Not sure I'll continue these trend, since using artists for reference was unexpectedly challenging. It was a nice change of pace though.
Finished the upper body video, Arms and Hands. Learned a lot from them.
For Arms, I've been kinda working with them for a while from references, but I think I finally understand how their muscles are constructed. The Brachialis and Brachioardialis in particular where muscles I omitted for the most part. Always confused the Brachioradialis with the Posterior Group, now it's clear where it goes.
The triceps was also a muscle that was never quite clear how it worked. Now I think I get where it goes but also understand the difference between the "extensor" and "pull" muscles.
Did a cheat sheet for myself.

The hand of course is always hard. Something important I noted was proportions. Those always bugged me when doing hands from imagination.
I'm also learning that for hands it's usually more important to get proportions and form correct so much more than finer details. Finer details can't help incorrect proportions look better, but a well proportioned hand with little detail still looks good.
Also I was used to work hands from references (usually photos of my own hands), which worked well so far, but with this I'm hoping to improve my hands from imagination which usually suck.
And as I said, I want to practice all learnings from Term 3 + Term 4 as a form of refresher and recap. I'm slowly dresing up Mr. Calaca with muscles. A bit stylized but I'm liking how it looks!

Manga
One more page done!

Jebus where to start with this one.
1) Inclined frames. For the most part straight frames for "tranquil scenes", as inclined as possible to highlight action.
2) First frame establishes what Seki is trying to do without really explaining. The text hints at what is going to happen without actually telling. Hopefully building some expectation for what happens next.
3) These frame show the different ways of showcasing rapid movement. Speed lines, blurring in the back, and smoke to accentuate direction. Overall the page is trying to give the sense of rapid movement across the board which should clash with the next page.
4) The tornado in frame 4 was surprisingly hard to do. I knew I wanted to do a tornado similar to what the flash does in DC comics, with the main character barely visible through the lines to indicate he's moving really fast, with the smoke to accentuate movement and lack of debris in the middle with a slight light gradient to highlight the center. Darkened the sorroundings to get more contrast on the tornado white tone.
5) Originally the tornado was to be seen from the top, but in the end made it at 3/4 perspective to make it a bit more dynamic as well as to follow the inclined frame.
That's it for now, gota run. Lots of work to do. Might take a few days before I get to progress more.
Always appreciate everyone stopping by and dealing with my ramblings. Cheers and hope you have a nice week!
