Wow, just wow! These portraits are so on point, you are totally nailing the planes and the values. These look so good. Likeness is good to I know the photo you used for the one in the bottom right! I really love your style. You are way beyond my level I have nothing of value to add just wanted you to know you are killing it. Keep it up!

Thank you so much Lock, that means a lot! I see you in most topics, helping everyone, its really good to have someone like you in the community!!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm still pretty new so I don't always have something to add. But I know the power of a kind word. I have people in my life who never believed in me and never supported me. Sometimes all it takes to be successful is a little encouragement. Keep up the great work!

I finally finished the cat stealing fish art. It helped me to understand better some parts of the process. The render was the hardest part by far - I felt lost/like I didnt really knew what I was doing a few times during the painting process. I feel like I could've done better, but overall Im somewhat satisfied with the final result since I didnt start studying color theory/composition yet.

Im starting to feel like moving to Term 3 now, will finish the last 4 and 5 points perspective assignments and move on.

Here is the final image and the process:

You are making excellent progress. I like the motion blur. It's a nice touch.

This looks pretty good. Now I think you need to work on the rendering of the dress. And for the other one, you may need to change the color of the person's pants. It blends into the field. The lighting looks pretty good for both.

Thanks a lot!
@gregorya Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I agree on both - Especially colors and rendering, they are the hardest part for me. Im kinda waiting for the next terms to focus more on those subjects, but I should be more careful when it comes to finish the paintings.

Hey, its been a while since I post here. I kept studying the Term 3 to really get a good structure on basic anatomy - I feel like im going slow but at least continuous. Focusing on the muscles while doing figure drawing and some portraits.
Also I did my first commission for a friend of mine, learned a lot with it.
Please, dont hold back on the feedback/critiques if you see something you think can be improved!

A thumbnail i want to explore and finish in the future

Heres the commission:

Dang these are stellar! Also love the classic tarot deck and the perspective on the cards Really stunning work!

Hello Dan,
Your commission looks amazing and dynamic!

I've been going through anatomy myself for a while now. I also felt I was progressing very slow. I appreciate that you kept it positive by saying your practice is still continuous, and I think having that mindset will take you far : )

my tip is to try to simplify and group muscles together into simpler shapes, after you have watched and practiced with Marc's anatomy lectures. Perhaps watching other professional artists explain their take on anatomy will help with that. That way you could rely less on reference and draw realistic poses out of your imagination more.

Hope to meet you at the end of the anatomy rabbit hole!

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it!!
I will definitelly try to simplify and (especially) work on the shapes. Thats one of the things I feel like observing and breaking down photos are super important.
I've been mainly watching Marc, Sinix, Marco Bucci, Sulamoon and Gui Freitas (both brazillian artists) and Proko, if you have any suggestions I would love to hear!

Beautiful work! I really like how you use softer edges for areas that aren't the focal point. It's especially effective in the thumbnail you shared!
