Thank Kat, I am still studying this trying to figure out more about shadow and lights condition
this should kind around 4 pm on a sunny summerday, still to be refined lacking details (the lineart kkep messing up), reflected lights ,occlusion etc...
still working on it, I need more focus, I am too tired lately and I always get not enough time. Anyways I corrected some values on stones, worked on cloud shadows, on foliage texture and some details in small arches
today just some basic exercise
I did some correction to daylight and basic exercises
started night one...I have lot of difficulties here since I messed up whit levels...I ended up putting everything but night ambient on a level and trying to figure it out...
I really messed up levels here ...in the ed I did this, isn't perfect but at least is a step into the right direction. I guess on a new artwork, whit clearer distinctions between levels I should do better
I feel like I have to go back to some basic at this point, starting from cast shadow / basic values
I'm no expert, but you might want to push the darker portions even darker. They say not to use black in even the darkest regions of an image, but it should be really dark compared to the lightest point. These latest studies seem to be concentrated towards a mid-tone. I hope that helps.
yes I used purposely a mid value tones since i wanted to realize a highly illuminated ambient (this should be kinda like a sunny day outdoor whit a pure white local value) and I want to see how values change on different ambient light. I had some doubt about casted shadws on latest study I did this exercise...at moment I am focusing more on this kind of study and color study. If you want to push further dark into a illustration (for any reason) under this kind of light you would emphasize ambient occlusion on any part or you would have a lless ambient light and a strong local light, that will push more the difference betwen light and dark area (this would be a nice study later, for now I am focusing more on ambient only). First thing coming to mind is Caravaggio ...and I probably should have done this on night study but I still want to first study ambient more .
