Thank you for the encouragement Nico! I really appreciate it ! I'm always looking for your advices hehe.
@Watercolour Thank you! The couse is really good, you should check it out!
I ended up falling in love with a reference for folds and tried my best to paint it! I have no idea how to do backgrounds, but this is the best piece i ever done, so i'm quite happy. i ended up getting carried away in the end and tried things that i don't really understand yet...
And the grind goes on!
Hello! In the last few days i've been trying the second assignment from the Clothed Figure Draw class, i don't like the final result, and i'm feeling kinda frustated and unmotivated to keep practing, because i think i understood the theory but am failing at the execution because of my weak rendering skills.
I really want to get good at this, but i want to see more things, exceptionally environment and 3d stuff. So, to keep things fun, i'm thinking in moving on and come back to this when i feel i need it (probably soon)!
Before that i will work on some personal projects and hopefully get some motivation boost! I've been wanting to review some things from the old classes, maybe i will do that too!
Let's keep moving!
Don't give up, I struggle from time to time with getting realistic clothing down as well. its a process but the more you do it the easier it becomes. If you feel you need to step back then do so however i think its good to continue, it'll help you figure out rendering - which will make future assignments easier.
Today i worked on some faces again, because i'm constantly having some trouble drawing the nose and the mouth, i will try to make it a habit to draw at least one portrait from reference a day, because i want to get good at painting realistic.
I'm constantly missing the correct angle of the head, i will mantain this in mind in future studies.
I will be focusing in getting better at rendering and soon i will challenge the clothed boss and the horrors of fabric again. I'm doing some value studies.
Again i've misse the angle of the head, hehe.
More on the rendering saga!
I've done this first study yesterday and spent a good time on it, i stoped in the middle because i couldn't make it look good, but i think i learned a lot about lighting while doing it.
I decided to try it again and i think it looks much better! I believe i'm starting to understand better the importance of simplification!
Also, noses are hard!
