That is so cute =] I love it!

I finally upgraded my pc a little bit. Got new graphics card with more memory and more ram. Now my workflow goes smoother when i work on large canvases and overall my pc work better now.
I am able to go back to this piece now and hopefully finish it.
I've changed my composition and size of this canvas.
I keep changing some things as initially I didn't plan this painting to be so huge and I didnt have any idea in my head for it that is why it takes so long.
I think in the future I will try to come up with a short plan of what I gonna draw and spend more time on composition first as it much easier to tweak all the little things at the sketch stage. So this is gonna be my last piece that I go into with no plan.

Trying to add more and break shapes as Marc to]ld me to do.. I dont really know what im doing haha
I will fix overly dark spots later on when I have time..

So far so good. Love the colors as well. Do think this newer version is working a lot better than the previous version. To me I feel you need to just refine things now. Add some nice clouds and you should be good to go Keep up the good work.

Thanks!
Yes, I do like this newer version more as it loooks less plain :>
I wasnt sure if the colours are alright coz i felt at some point that i like them but then I dont know if they are too bright? <_>

This is looking great I love how much progress you've made !

I personally feel that the colors are fine. You can maybe try desaturating the background a bit and see how you feel. So far so good though. Keep up the good work.

Looking really good so far! I love how it all started more as a portrait and now you're turning it into a full scene.

thanks!
Ye my intention was to do a quick one for instagram <_> and I ended up doing a whole new scene haha

good thing you did a whole scene instead. I like where this piece is headed.

I've been procrastinating a bit lately so this one is moving slowly haha.
Soon im quitting my job and I will have slightly more room for manipulating my free time, yus :>

I made the background lighter in colour and tried to fade it more and I made the area on the first plane darker and shifted it towards blue hue more.
Repainted her shoulders again, repainted feathers AND im still trying to figure out them feet and toes.
Overall I think that i like the direction of where this is going so i'll need to make sure that i like the folds on this skirt and maybe I will add sumth around her hands area or\and feet coz I do have one idea.
And the end step will be to refine what should be refined and i wanna add some light shining through the leaves around this character.

My god, that's just incredible Julia!

My only feedback right now would be that the big toe on the foot closest to us looks a bit strange. I'm not quite sure why actually, but it looks slightly off to me. It might be just a personnal preference of mine, but I'd make her hair darker. I feel it would frame her face better and make it pop more.

Also, don't forget that she's surrounded by green pretty much everywhere, so I feel there should be some green bounce light on her, especially on the parts touching the ground and mabe the shadows. No need to be too obvious with it, but I think it would help make her fit into the scene even more.

Beyond that though, it's looking great. I really look forward to the final result!

thank you, Cedric! ;>

Ye feet are looking weird, im still working on those haha.

and ye i know about bounce light but Id say that only some bottom parts of her cloth will be tiny bit greener (and i dont have that yet on this picture) and all the other parts i'd leave in this blue tint, i think... anyway, thanks! and i will look into it, coz right now whole clothing area feels like it doesn't belong here haha

This is coming togheter super nice, I really have a tendency to rush pieces when doing personal work so it is good to see a more pacient artist work develop a piece in real time, I really think that most people dont realize the value in patience, really love the folds of the cape and the hands gesture!

@jc.aedo.o thanks! Well, I am just too determined to finish this piece ( coz i never finish anything n im trying to change that) and push it as much as i can, but honestly, in the future i will definetly plan out things a bit more because otherwise so much time wasted haha ;D

Today I did a little study from couple of photos that i own, yes his facial features are not 100% symmetric.
I've read few pages about anatomy of the skull so doing these two heads was a bit different experience than usual.
Our of all the features i think mouth and cheeks are the hardest for me.

also what do you guys think about values? Should they be more drastic coz personally i dont mind it but i might be wrong, please hlep!

I like these portraits. The first one especially feels so expressive.

And I think that the values look fine. Maybe it's just missing a few strong higlights spots, but maybe it doesn't either. Well... that was helpful XD
