Here is something i was working on , i wanted to focus on the values but i dont really know how to make them work, also the shadows and light could use some work, im aiming for something more realisitc but i dont really know how to draw them that well.And for the background i dont even know where to start i was thinking of this character standing on a cliff and in the dinstance mountains.
Some ideas could help.

She looks cool! I really like her face and hair, i think your values are coming together nicely. maybe you could play off of what she is looking back at? too me she almost looks sad, maybe she was tracking an animal or friend and she is just realizing she may not find them? I think if you want to make a full scene a story would help, but i am no expert. cant wait to see what you do with her!

If your focal point is the face in this picture, just try something like this where you add simple lines to frame the face of your subject and lead the eye through your character. You can do a few and find the one you like. Keep it simple and use no detail until you like the layout.

Just remember atmospheric perspective, and keep your values more simple on your background than your foreground subject to start.
