Organization of Portfolio
- Might I just say, besides the site you choose to display your portfolio . . . I must say the most impressive aspect of this portfolio is it's organization. It's extremely simple and easy for the viewer to navigate there way through the portfolio which I really appreciate. everything seems to fit in place and makes perfect sense.
Art Direction and Intended Destination
- Throughout looking through your portfolio I'm constantly searching for a studio I could see you working for. A lot of your work reminds me.of Pendleton Ward's work. However, your looking to do character concept/ Environment etc . . . My Problem is, what line of concept working are you trying to do? Would you want to work on video games such as : Guild Wars, Warcraft, Witcher? Or are you looking to do Film, and for what genre of film. You understand on a level what you desire to do and are moving towards that direction but, you need to zero in even further. Then work towards gearing your style towards that studio to show them you can make that type of work.
Current Skill Set
- Unfortunately, with the current level your at you don't have the gear and experience needed to take on the higher level monsters that are the professional concept industry. However, FRET NOT! many of us aren't either. You are on the correct path keep forging ahead to your dreams and don't take the words "no" or "you can't" from anyone. Not me, Not your family, Not your friends, Hell not even yourself! Somethings Id suggest you work on is more fundamentals! You need to work on :
(Light and Shadow for that I recommend Sycra! (check out his video series on the "foundations of light and shadow!")
( Next up Anatomy! for Anatomy I'd also vouch for Sycra Yasin, He has tons of videos on Anatomy Studies)
(I want to give you a small list to work on so here's the last one and the biggest one, you have to learn how to RENDER, I understand your a concept artist however learning how to render is something that's very sought in today's artist in our industry. We have to make it easy for the next person where giving our work to has an easy job interpreting and is able to create the work they need too. If you don't fully understand the term rendering you could could just look it up on YouTube.)
Also here are some Honorific Artist I'd check out, They'd be a great help to you.
