I say keep trying, maybe try one where she shoots an arrow right at the viewer with a tilted camera angle so you could fit more of the body on the canvas?

Hi! I feel you are rooting for this kind of asian composition. Have a look at Fan Ho, a photographer, with a lot of strong compositions that might interest you. The felin was more adapted. @tbrk gave you a good solution, also if she is doing something with someone on the first plan maybe the animal can do something with someone in the background to add more depth. If you stay on a stretched vertical format you can try a up and down composition instead of a front and back.

Love the drafts you made! The wolf is a great addition. I am in doubt about the thumbs, though I agree your compositions are great, the latter two do not particulary depict war (I struggled with this as well). But perhaps this helps in completing the composition?

Nice background. I love how that tree bends further back and frames the character. The pose's perspective feels off tho, make sure you decide the viewpoint, are we gonna look up at her or down on her? Keep it up

I love the framing in the tree picture, although I agree that she feels a bit static.
What tbrk said about perspective - I agree, I feel like the belt is ruining it, since it seems it's above horizon line, yet looks as if we are looking downward at it.

I like the more dynamic pose. It would be good to see more of her outfit, but you still have the character sheet for that. Two is a fine frame for a graphic novel but not as good for a cover because the perspective is a bit too interesting. It's like an up shot with a low horizon line, but she is walking downhill. I'd save 2 for the final sketch sheet, but it's your story and you need to tell it your way.

It's looking good. The armor design is cool and the cats are looking cool with this color pallet. You put a lot of work into your character's armor design and it makes sense to pick a pose that shows it off. The bottle is a nice touch as well.

Love the one where she's walking with the Panters, you changed her head position, it looks weird now, the way it was was great, I would leave it in the angle as she's looking forward, better story telling IMO.

I think looking straight is the best option because when she's looking to the side, the viewer's attention is drawn to something they can't see

I like that idea, it is more dynamic this way, the straight version make her look too stiff
So i vote for the rotated upper body!

The rotation add some interst in the pose, but i feel the frontal view of the face was more badass. I'm jealous of your colours. Good luck for the ending!
