I like that idea, you could use Liliana Vess as reference. The character has come along nicely, good work. I agree with @alina, the wings could have a little more flow, using simple curves.
Nice idea! I like the first one with the big circle behind her it adds a mystical feel to the illustration which really nice
@rgdraw thanks!@alykam Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely check up on it!
Cleaned up the silhouette and altered the wing design, what do you guys think?
Both are nice but I feel like something is missing, try to look at Magic the Gathering cards illustration, I think some might fit your idea and maybe that will help you find a better compositionI'm sorry I can't help more today, but if it's okay with you and if I have time I'd like to try quick overpaint tomorrow
Thanks, I will! And no worry, no matter long or short, your feedback has helped me a lot
Hahah this concept is soo cool! I love the loving undead guy, it made me so laugh! And the idea is so nice as well as your drawings!
You're welcome
I really like where you are going with this as @rgdraw said .. if you would look at those type of stuff I think league of legend splash arts and magic, and see how they make their illus so dynamic with cool composition(for shorting ) unless you are not going for that look!
Keep going !!
Hi, really like your paintings and how you use colour. Was looking at the illustration concept and the ones you did earlier in red look a bit more interesting, i think as shes fulfilling her role in healing/support.One of my favorite artist is Peter Mohrbacher if you've never seen his work might be worth a look, especially his Angelarium stuff as its very relevant to this Art War theme.
Oh thank you so much for this, he really does have quite some awesome artwork that could be used for inspiration and I finally found a pose reference I can work with, so making new drafts already
The poses look great especially A! But I'm not quite sure if it symbolises what kind of story you want to tell with this character. Since she's the "bad guys healer" I personally don't think tha ยดt she'd hold up a dead person like it's a triumph for her. I mean since her "cause" is to heal people and not kill them? What I think would be interesting is if she'd be holding a dead persons head and looking sad instead of glad like she lost someone. (Kinda like a mother holds her baby or sth) You know because she lost a new "recruit" for Hades army or sth. Other than that it reminds me a lot of Perseus holding up Medusas head. Which is cool because it fits to greek mythology! But he's a good guy who killed the bad guy. Well yeah. To make my point: From what I've read she's more of a "good bad guy". Not a typical bad guy who enjoys killing people. So i'd probably go with one of your earlier poses.^^ (Sorry for talking so much xD )
Haha that was actually the statue which I used as reference No but what I am trying to portray is that she is "healing" the head (so giving it a new body), but the drafts do not show that yet. I do get your point as I am struggling a bit with how to portray her correctly. But thank you so much for your input! I will try and stretch it further Maybe it would be better if I made the head look at her with a thankful expression ?
Yeah that would make sense! Maybe if she'd be holding the head with both hands instead of just one? It looks more "triumphant" or like she's presenting it to someone as it is now. Maybe holding it closer to her body gives a more "intimate" or "loving" expression? Something like that. Looking forward to see more
Definitely like comp A way more! The pose feels more natural and ready to move, and she feels powerful and above it all. There's something almost Frazetta-ish about it?
Nice sketches! Not fan of B, it feels too conquerer, A works better, but maybe she could hold the head differently since she's suppose to cure the guy, I think this would be enough to improve the painting
I love the idea of her holding someone's head. I like the A illustration better, but I also love the phantom-skeleton thing.
This is my favorite. I like the dynamism and entire impression, the mood.
@Prophantii @kimsokol @rgdraw @sanguine Thank you for the comments and advice!@posashkov Thank you, I will put elements of that drawing into my final illustration.
Composition of the illustration using your feedback guys, any thoughts?
