one thing you may want is to boost the terthiary details on forearms and legs, it kinda looks empty there, maybe if it is not some design addition, some material's detail would help, the main red shape is really cool i would have gone with a long squared drape if wanted to push the minimalistic design, and i encourage a bit more clarity on the scepter. there is also a sort of discontinuity between arms armor, shoulderpads and torso and legs, or their percentage composition, it seems thay all have different materials and come from different places, maybe you can extend the rust theme to 2 of them or indicate a sort of feature that bridles the elements closer to a single direction, hope this helps keep it up!

I've ditched the scepter, i've fancied the idea of him using just the chain,plus more potential for animation.Still a long way to go on details and solving soem of the issues

This is a long thread, and I haven't read it all, so forgive me if you have already covered this, but is he meant to be hitting them with the flail thing, because he doesn't look like he's connecting at all, especially the armoured guy on the right. Is he knocking them out with some kind of noxious smoke?

This is looking nice! Great moody lighting and atmosphere. I hope that you don't lose the intense red from your previous full-body-only post. I really like the idea of having the mace on the chain, but you might consider more dynamic poses for him. Right now he doesn't look like he's putting all that much effort into his swing; It feels more casual than powerful. Your previous post with the mace in hand had a bit more of a dynamic pose.

Layout-wise, you might consider cropping the image tighter to get rid of the dead space to the sides. I hope you don't mind that I did a quick paintover to show you what I mean:

(I also added a bit of fog behind him on the left to separate him from the background. But I know you were still working through your painting and likely didn't need my help at all, so I hope you don't mind. Cheers, and good luck with it!

@mdashow Just wow,i love it cropped way more as for the pose and dynamism - i'm struggling quite a bit with them,not that good yet. Thank you very much for your input ,i appreciate it !

a little backstory : He was part of a group of monks that protect the lands from external forces.But every light needs a dark counterpart,it's part of the fine and dynamic balancing act of existance. This is where he steps in to counterbalance all the light,all that's good. He doesn't really have a name,nor does he talk much, but he was called blasphemous for following dark teachings so it stuck with him - Blasphemy, darkness in the flesh.

Congrats. I liked better with the mask but in this way maybe his face is more expressive. I don`t know why but it remembering me the Warhammer fantasy universe. Good job.
