Hi!!!
well, I've been progressing on this piece, what do you think?

This is taking shape with every step. I'm working on the general atmosphere and how it affects colors. Capricorn still looks kinda flat, but that's because I'm still missing painting lights and the rim light from the fire above. I'm not sure if the background pirates look great or should I tweak a little bit here and there.......

I like the hands in the foreground which gives a first person view of the composition. I didn't understand that those drowning men are pirates at first glance, maybe you can add weapons sinking with them and you can also indicate that there is a destroyed ship on the surface or sinking along with the pirates

@tbrk thanks a lot!! Yeah, I'm also going to paint weapons, a pirate flag, and a bunch of barrels sinking and such, and at the very top will be the underside of a ship, on fire. I'm still struggling with how to approach that area

I added some weapons (as suggested by user tbrk) and worked those barrels. I also refined her smoke aura a little bit more, as well as those highlights (which are not fully done tbh)

I still need to work on her magic and THAT FREAKING WATER SURFACE XD

I love that you went with the design with the hands in the foreground! Your setting in the illustration is amazing! Are you going to try to incorporate some dark blue water elements to complement the warm orange tones?

You can add rays of sunlight showing through and I thought this image would be a good reference since your color pallet has a sunset feel

@evehartman Thanks a lot for your comment!! I have indeed worked in some blue hues in the water, but I think they are still somewhat weak

finally working on the water surface.... boi it's proving to be quite easy to overdo this part

this is what I have so far. I decided to hide verything else just get a nice and clear view of the ocean

woah the concept and the illustration looks super nice !! .. if there is anything id say if you can add some water light texture ..(those lines if you know what I mean!

I love the mood in your piece! The hands in your earlier painting were a super cool idea, the colours are beautiful.

Nice concept I have a similar drawing from one year ago, in my ArtStation. I love these water creatures. I love the colours, so keep up the great work!

Well, another WIP! her magic is pretty much done, after two attempts XD my first try looked significantly bad, so a full re-do was a must. After painting the magic, some bounce light and color dodge came in.

The very last thing that's missing is her necklace!

I'm quite happy with the result, and I guess that all that's left missing is to adjust here and there colors, values and such. What do you guys think???

This will be my last WIP post. Next time will be the final submission! am I excited? yeah!! is this fun to work on? hell yeah!! is this a perfect design? No, but I'm happy with it, and that's what matters
