Thank you very much @konhgard for kind words and suggestions concerning contrast (your example is a little bit overkill in my eye but yeah - I see your point). There is a chance that I will add extra work to my piece and I will remember all advices that I received here.

As for graphical presentation of your idea (I saw that you used this method in other threads) - I have no particular problem with that but... well... I did it by myself in other thread here - I posted simple overpaint to show what I mean and... I received a very polite (it's a very cultural society here) suggestion that it was superfluous (description is usually enough and not everyone wants to have in their own threads art other than their own). Of course I removed my overpaint immediately and decided never do it again.

In this case - it wasn't necessary (description would be enough) but like I wrote - I have no particular problem with that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and fresh eye. I guess all artists suffer from "blind spot effect" - when we stare at our work too long, we stop seeing weaknesses and areas of improvement. So... fresh eye of another artist cannot be overrated.

@jonatan-moonchild This looks great. I have been trying to get a less saturated palette for my drawings recently and somehow they often become bright and flat. The elegant design of the sorceress is a nice contrast to the minimalist background.

Would there not be a rim light on the underside of the arms and along the hips to thighs? Or the top edge of the altar left? Wondering for myself as much as you.

That's absolutely true. It's amazing how different our work look when we take a step back! Sometimes I feel like I'm walking in the mist and only sometimes when the mist is getting a bit thinner I'm starting to see where I'm actually going .

In general - I wanted to spend some extra work on it but I needed to take a step back and give it some time. Now it's starting to calling me and all your suggestions are boiling in my head. Once again thank you all: @mr_dessin, @posashkov, @meonika, @kantan, @konhgard and @tyepo for stepping by, for supporting words (+5 to motivation), and for your precious observations and advices - I will make a good use of it, that's for sure!

Looking on your painting with a fresh view...maybe the phantom army is a bit distracting here...or maybe not that's never easy to point what is good or not...
Or maybe there should be more people in that army ?
Some of thme maybe look a bit too small in compariosn to tohers ?
(we sure can't be in your head for sure, to see your own point of view).

Still, don't get me wrong... I really like your work (and the army is such a very little detail haha) !
Will you participate in the upcoming (in few months) "Worlds" contest too ?

Certainly!

As for the phantom army - there absolutely could be more of them. But... you know - first of all I wanted to have main characters done (as best as possible). If the Sorceress is in place - she can make them more after all

It would have been nice with more army people...but also less distinguished (in the fog or something...to be less distracting from the rest)...just a little stuff I thought about (but probably wrong haha).

Sure I already see your fantastic work on the first Worlds contest !
