Final illustration

Hi, I am José Domingo Luna from Argentina. I designed a character for the light side, a wooden mage.
My process was to start with some pixel art silhouettes, then a painting. After that I refined the concept further via sketches and made a turnaround. As you will be able to see in this post I also made a low poly hand painted 3D model, but I will still submit my entry as 2D. And that´s why I made an illustration of 2048*2048 (aspect ratio that was a compositional challenge).
I really learnt a lot seeing everyone´s entry and I hope to learn more with your feedback.

I wanted to try a different idea generation method. Instead of regular sillouettes I tried making little pixel art characters for creating different designs.

I chose the last design. I sketched over the pixel art and got carried on with the painting.
There are some things about the materials I´m not completely happy about and I will sketch more to refine it.

Yeah!! I like those pixel arts! Hope you will put them all in your final illustration.
1, 2, 8, 11 & 12 are just awesome in shapes and mood.

Hahahahha. That was a tough design choice, sometimes it looked like a wooden thong and sometimes like a wooden diaper. Hahaha!
