Hey I'm a first timer both to ArtWar and to art competitions. I do mostly character designs so figured this could be my thing

I chose the side of light and my "Yin the overcome" as my champion.
There's still some different experimentation to do though a few characteristics may already have stuck the landing.

His design is of course based on the Yin and Yang.

Some early sketches

I chose light as my warriors theme. I wanted to make something less "pure" light and hint at struggle behind . I going with a traditional Japanese mythology and incorporating Yin and Yang into the piece though with Yang (light) taking a front stage in terms of drama.

I'd love some tips and critique

Doing some work on the general feel of what I'm after and the look of Yin

So here the line art for the final illustration. Thanks to help from family I've adopted Art Nouveau style with some inspiration from Japanese traditional art and Shinto themes.

It's interesting ! it can be a tattoo :o but there is a small problem of proportion is not however embarrassing it gives in interesting style! ^^
