I see you rigged in Maya , any resource or tut for rigging in Maya properly ?I do half assed rig in Blender which is workable , but not at all good quality.
Sure! There is this (my opinion) EXCELLENT teacher on YouTube named James Taylor. This is the link to his rigging video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah-Jk7d30ks The only thing I had to adjust (other than weights) on mine was the orientation of the finger joints. Here's the link to the online documentation for that: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2016/ENU/Maya/files/GUID-FE43EB66-30EB-4148-9324-34390A4A0D3E-htm.html Let me know if you want to set up a control rig over the top of your basic rig and I'll link you on that as well. I have to dig that up.
Nice, yes I have seen it b4 , I plan to use James Taylor's tut for Maya rigging in the future. But I didn't see any fk/ik stuff in there. But this will do for quick rigging and posing then. Thanks for the info
You're welcome! Yep, I think he may have left out the IK stuff and I had to find another tutorial on setting that up. I have a lot of good notes. I can send them your way if you'd like.
Sure if you have some rig tips send me some ,and the sculpt is nice , using zmodeler or clip brushes ?
Send me your email and I'll give you everything I have. Thank you! I used ZModeler, the clip brushes and Boolean functions.
I tried to keep his weapon at a moderately low-res polycount. I also changed up the materials a little bit. Too much red... and I wanted it to contrast the character.
Hi! Seems you final image got resized by the forum because the file size was too high. You need to make the file size smaller (around 2.3MB) in order to keep the dimensions you need.
Oh okay. Thank you! ...resized.
Looks like I still need to put up my concept sheet. That will arrive later today. It's a series of drawings that were primarily done with a ballpoint pen. I need to scan those in and comp them together.
love the posing , where did you render it , the lighting looks a little static
