Hey guys .. excited to compete in this challenge..
I am thinking about a man wearing armor who found an ancient magical weapon that has a DARK power ( i am thinking of a chain(s) ).. so his heart (or his eye) become the source of his power.. I am gonna tell you this i am terrible at concepting my characters in 2D, looking forward to develop my skills in 2D.. So i made a very rough and quick 2D concept for this character just to show what i am thinking about.. everything will change afterwards in 3D but the general character stay the same.. so don't panic
Blocking out the anatomy..starting with Zspheres... Hands & feets still untouched:
This is the first phase of armor sketching, very rough i still need to change it in some areas and add extra elements to complement the idea of the design before i go to the detailing/resurfacing stage.. I kind of changed my idea of the original design .. I will not incorporate the chain in the design .. His power will be from his suit that full of energy but i kind of liked the idea of destroying some of his armor i don't know if i will add this detail or not i will decide as i go further in the design..
Final sketch phase: most changes done in the back and the head which i didn't like at the first stage..later i will add more accessories and details.. i am running too late hopefully i'm able to complete in time.. pray with me
here is what i got so far in the retopo stage.. still the legs and hands to go.
the main model is finally completed. ready to do the textures for him.. I may do some changes to him but first i need to get a good idea of how he should look like by applying some textures..
rough texture work in substance painter..
here is another shots with different lighting..
Finalizing the textures for him.. ready to do the textures for the other parts.
This is my Detail_Sheet... i couldn't upload the model in marmoset viewer because the size of the model exceeds the limits.
Finally ... here is my final result .. I really rush it out because i don't have enough time .. and i worked on it in my spare time because the work has almost whole day.. so, enough excuses I really enjoyed entering this competition and i have learned so many new things.. thank you cubebrush for this opportunity I really enjoyed it ..
