Love your combination of the characters, they seem like a comical duo! (I somehow get Timon and Pumba vibes). Your colour set up looks alright, but perhaps add a colour to either designs? (or perhaps you are already planning to do that

Awesome job so far :D. I like the first composition .. it gives to your back character an awesome mysterious feel and maybe change the camera so you can see the character from down in this way your character will look more majestic ... looking forward to see what you will choose
