I noticed that I was having a hard time to enter into 'drawing mode' and I figured it was probably because since I fixed my computer I stopped with 'gesture drawing'... so i'll start with GD on a daily basis again.

1 min GD

My 'Box Cover'

good gesture but I would recommend trying to use fewer lines and having more line confidence when you do your gesture drawing so like for example if you are drawing the curve of a leg you would draw a single line instead of doing scratchy/hairy lines to get the complete curve but everything else looks good. I also wanted to comment on your box cover because it seems to not be in the right perspective based on how flat the front plane looks it should be more angled in a 2 point perspective set up.

I probably won't be able to improve my lines in GD for now, as I tend to do these hairy lines when trying to correctly adjust the size of the limbs as to not get out of proportion .
I didn't even think about using perspective ( yeah kinda dumb since I just finalized perspective class )

For today's studies :

GD

line control :

shadows :

well a way to improve them is just getting used to doing on stroke and seeing where you make mistake by comparing it to your ref that way you can still improve line confidence while making it a habit to check the limb length correctly

@Lukiesartventure hmm, i'll try to pay more attention and apply these ghost drawing methods whenever I can
@Kosmonaut I'll start with 2 min gesture drawing, then I can focus more on trying to improve line confidence

I'm with high hopes for the Anatomy class

line confidence with me came from just drawing over and over so it could also be improved over time with 30-second gesture as well. do whatever works for you best or experiment and find out what works best didn't mean to influence you to go for a longer time if you were fine with what you were doing before. basically, line confidence is what comes out of trusting your brain, eyes, and hand to correctly make the line the fits what you are drawing at least to me. That comes with time as you draw more and more so if you thin 2 min. will help go for it.

University work's pilling up, but I want to try to keep a daily practice, so here's my study for today:

I'll probably take some time in Anatomy 1

Let me ask , Do you guys try to remember every name he teaches? And you remember in English or in your mother language?

I would try to remember the names but I also try to recall them every once in a while to see what I remember. don't think it's too important though I do it more as a self-challenge. English is my first language so I also remember them in english.

I'm having quite a bit of trouble with the nose ... Any tips would be appreciated

what helped me with noses is trying to get in the blocky forms of the nose without smoothing the planes as a way to help see how far the nose comes out and how the planes look so I can easily identify how to shade it. also, use references if you have to if you aren't already doing that it makes it a lot easier to understand it at different angles. You could also try to do the nose just by itself so you don't have to worry about placing it on a face and you focus purely on trying to get the nose right at different angles. hope this helps.
