Another Update on the project, Please if anyone has any advice or any tips please share because I have no clue what I'm doing lol. Just going with the flow.

This is pretty much my test to see if I should go to term 2 yet or stay in 1 and continue perspective and construction.

Red is Construction - I think the Opacity is turned down
Blue - Armor and Just Ideas
Black - Ink of course

I really didn't know what to do with the cape in the back as far as lighting.. Like should I just keep it all pure black or what? lol I feel like if I do that it has no detail and looks flat. Maybe some bounce light off the floor on to the cape.
I was just playing around with the cape and made it torn up kind of brainstorming a story like she is mad about being in a fight and now her cape is ripped lol

you're hella good for someone who "has no idea what they are doing" XD

Thank you very much.
My grandfather was an artist, a painter. He used to do portraits of Indians and Animals, he also did landscapes and Pirate ships, he was also a carpenter. I spent a lot of time with him in my younger years and we used to draw and paint together and do carpentry projects. I remember sitting with him and watching good ol' Bob Ross on the tv every afternoon lol.

When I got older I stopped visiting him so much because well, I was growing up and it cost a lot of money to fly out to colorado from jersey. He actually used to drive here to see us but then that got too much for him.

I guess maybe art is just a part of who I am and I never really tapped into it until I saw Marc's videos. He sounded so encouraging and saying it's not talent and anyone can do it made me want to get back into something I used to do with my grandfather.

This is awesome @Gibson, your hatching game is on point. The hair is done so well. I need tips haha. Where did you learn to do your hatching? I like David finch, so good on YouTube esp for comics and composition.

@alwaysneedsleep I just do what David explains in his videos. I've really only been doing this for about a week. The arm in the sketch was the first comic style arm I've ever drawn with detailed anatomy on it. I don't even know anatomy. I just did it. lol.

That's why I told @mitsuki-youko in my posts that I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm just doing things. lol

Oh also I learned the hair from David too.

Random Sketching, I started out doing classwork and by the time I got to the bottom all hell broke loose lol...

yooo your bottom row is so good! esp that bottom left.. chain-like thingy
i also really like ur 2nd row it looks so neat!! but overall they all look great!

I been looking at the schedule and my god.. It's a lot of work for a beginner. Being new to drawing I draw really slowly and it takes a long time to get my lines and all that.
Having to just draw "a full page of cylinders takes quite some time. Then we are supposed to draw 5 figures AND the daily exercises AND Construction over reference. Just doing the 5 figures takes me all morning to do lol

I'm drawing from 8 am till 10pm lol, it's pretty rough.

Nice job on these studies!

Your crosshatching in some of these is excellent, in others, it is slightly muddy - I feel because you are combining ordered contour hatching with slightly disordered, more chaotic hatching that kind of "fills the space"

Wasn't really trying to be great, just classwork and really fast sketching
