Hello everyone! I want to introduce myself before anything, My name is Gillian, Im currently 20 years old and been taking classes at my local community college since I was 17. I have had dreams since I was a kid to make my art as a source of income as a small business/freelance artist.

I've been trying here and there, but never took it seriously due to confidence issues and the fact that I never had a pathway to follow to reach those goals. I have instead hit a wall in my classes, got accepted to OTIS, and overwhelmed myself with work but managed to get a decent pc to use for my art production.

I've decided to give Marcs art school a try so I dont follow my current path of feeling hopeless while trying and dropping my college classes. My goal is to finish Term 1 before my winter recess ends (mid febuary) and compare my confidence in my skills during that time.

I hope you guys can support and hold me accountable as i finish this term. I will post my progress as I go along.

wish me luck!

Starting Point

This is some art that I've made through out the year since I've barely made any, but I hope it gives you guys an idea of where I am in skills.

Welcome to the forums! your art looks great so far can't wait to see how it improves once you go through the course.

I started in a weird place since it's been the holidays, but I'm very excited because soon ill have more time on my hands to really dive into the first term. it feels like a review but it feels nice since it's been over a year since learning these foundations.

I've been focusing on anatomy and how to pose the body for my drawings, lately, I've been itching to create a finished drawing instead of sketches and exercises, but it's a trending problem to start on a drawing and then drop it to never go back. I think it's just a lack of discipline to finish projects. hopefully, I can come back here with a finished piece and some of the assignments completed.
