When it comes to practice I do try to schedule my time to practice things I lack. I would practice my anatomy and environments mostly!
How I currently study is that I practice for at least 5 hours a day doing one subject per week. 5 hours for anatomy and 5 hours for the environment since I want to sink in all the information in as quickly and as efficiently as possible. But I don't know if that is actually beneficial or not. Sometimes when I do study for long periods of time I would have moments of frustration or burn-out.
So I decided to change up a bit and just study for about 30 minutes to an 2 hours a day, either doing anatomy or environmental studies (compositions, color studies, and so on).
I know everybody has their own way of studying, but I am always trying to find ways to improve my way of studying. Since also I may possibly be getting hired for a design position soon I will only have about a 6-7 hour window of studying (or even just doing normal painting projects) Monday-Friday, I am fine on the weekends.
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! I really would like to hear how others study or how some might compromise work and art.
Thanks again!
