ooh these look really nice! nicely done clothes!

Damn, this term is going sooo slow for me.... :frowning:

5 out of 12 clothing study. This time I've spent a bit less time on this as I didn't want to use any lineart at all. It may seem to have a bit less contrast than original, but using some spots of value instead of thinking what to do with every single line was an interesting experience :).

Also - second environmental study, to fill out my need for sketchy lines :stuck_out_tongue:

Even if I messed up the proportions / distances a bit, I really like the look of it. I did my best with observation and building everything myself, only trying to guess how the perspective lines would look like by looking at the original.
Hope I'm making some progress, even if in some days it looks like I'm not

@mitsuki-youko oh, you think so? Thank you <3.
I honestly sometimes think like I'm making a step back in my art. Especially when I cannot be consistent with my style :P.
But I'll continue to do my best. I plan to spend a bit more rime now on the course, because I want to go with next lessons and there's still so many assignments to do .

2/2 2 minute gesture drawing for this term:

I'm pretty happy with those as I managed to make them quite detailed and I tried to start remembering some shapes for anatomy. Although sometimes I had to go a bit over 2 minutes, because some of those poses were just too difficult and I didn't want to end with only half done :P.

Seeing the progression of your studies is really inspiring me to keep going. Really great work!

@kalienator thank you so much <3. I'm not often check this forum here, but seeing that my work inspire others is the best I could get and I'm so happy

@daceronine thanks so much! it was a lot of work, fortunately having only 2 minutes per pose didn't feel that long and I could fill almost full canvas during one session ^^.

3rd and last environmental study for this term:

I'm not gonna lie, getting the perspective in a proper way for this was a really tough job and I ended up eyeballing some of those lines :P. I still don't know what else is used for those heavy perspective drawings that they look very natural and at the same time lines seem to not converge to the same horizon. It's very confusing and I don't know where I could find an answer for it.
Maybe studying more perspective would help so I have to get some books about it.

But also, as I'm slowly progressing through this 3rd term, I managed to make 5 heads from imagination. Although keeping them facing the camera was the hardest thing to do XD.

I kept them sketchy for a reason, cause I rushed it a little bit and ended up working on one layer only. I'm drawing way less recently due to some health issues and I must admit, I somehow forgot how to make a proper face :stuck_out_tongue:

Ouch, hope you get better!

Env looks pretty good for eyeball! Wish I could say something that could help, but I also struggle with perspective a lot. Other than using rulers to attempt to extract the perspective of a reference, there's not much else I can recommend other than to keep practicing.

It's one of those things that you become more adept the more you observe and try it.

Heads also look great! I'd say you still know how to properly make them.

1 month later

@daceronine thank you. It's being ups and downs for the past months, but I'm under some physical therapy and I hope it'll work to make me better
yeah, I think observation is the key and after about a hundred studies or so there's a chance to either make those studies faster or try to mimic the methods that's been used and somehow make it work XD.
In any way - it's a lot of work XD.

6-8 clothing studies (out of 12).
First two are so far may favorite and turned out great. The last one is a bit half-assed, but I think I choose the wrong photo with a material that's too much textured and it messed up with my perception of folds.

Also, another three of putting cloth onto undressed figure. I've decided to not make it too rendered as I think of this exercise as of something that helps me understand how the folds can react on body and sometimes I'm spending too much time with this, I don't have much energy to render it :P.

Also - I've noticed that with this assignment using and AI generated clothes is not that bad as I only need to see the main shape and folds and I can adjust the rest quite easily :). I still don't like using it, but picking a first seen reference saves a lot of time :).

All those are works from the past month, my back still won't let me to sit too long with drawing, so I'm trying to take it easy, but also trying to learn how to draw faster. So the rendered studies takes between 1,5 to 2 hours of work, while the other cloths I'm getting done in around 40 minutes to an hour.
So I think I've sped up the process a little bit

Looking forward to work more on the assignments, so I could finally go to the next topic and next term soon.

wonderfully done mate

I think something about the folds on the top of the last one look off to me but overall it's great stuff

cheers
