Been doing a lot of studies yesterday and today, but my rendering looks so sloppy lately that it's a bit discouraging. I need to sort that out.

One of my studies from today, just a cast of an eye to practice edges It's pretty sloppy. .

And from yesterday, I did day 4 of Istebrak's 14 day portrait challenge.

lock-in:

welcome ... ur definitely on the right way, u just need to practise hard and soft edges a little bit more ... I recomend to watch some videos of Anthony Jones, he's a real expert on this ... keep up the studies

9 days later

Thanks  I love his videos, they are so useful! Been studying away so hopefully things will click soon

Day 5 of 14 day challenge. This took so long omg, things really weren't working but I learned a lot from this day that I can use for the next.

Two very sketchy and unfinished studies for rendering/ form practice. Been doing a lot of environments lately and oh my god I need practice haha.

Also for some reason my username doesn't match my forum name and I can't change it, hence the weird disparity.

Started doing a daily sketchbook for daily exercises, demos, classes to help track my progress because I usually just throw that stuff away.

Did NMA class 1 assignment, took notes for the Steve Huston head demo, head construction practice, quick figure studies, Rielly rhythms demo as I forgot how to do that, and been taking some more notes from the Figure Drawing Design and Invention book. Doesn't look that great but hopefully I'll get used to a sketchbook format 😅

Been doing a lot of practice in Blender and Zbrush lately, so I'll start posting my 3D studies soon. It has helped my anatomy knowledge a ton so far.

Practice from today. More of the Steve Huston head demo, did NMA class 2 value assignments (traditional, so not here), some practice quick head sketches, a demo on light in perspective and some sphere practice.

Really wanting to improve my construction for drawing from imagination.

Quick Zbrush head sculpt practice from yesterday

More Steve Huston demo, then some super quick head studies. Also started working on a figurine design in Zbrush and more of the NMA class 2 assignment.

Got to the end of class 1 of the beginner head construction course, did some quick head studies. Also some style studies taking notes on artists I like.
