Is it possible to do more natural environments-ish in sketch up as well? Like just simple building blocks to build more nature based designs.

These are great! I would employ you. ...If I had money. ...and a company.

A little process video for a background painting.

Don't know if it's useful to anyone, but if it is and you will like to see more let my know and i'll try to do more.

@brianhermelijn I would think so, you could just use some cylinders and stuff like that to map out your painting, i tend to just use boxes for everything dont want to get bogged down in details in that part of the process. though I have messed around with some more complicated 3D setups for painting

@veek91 Hehe Thank you, thats very nice of you to say ^^

A bit of an odd camera angle in this one, its a little hard to get a good feeling of depth.
As the Wanderer travels deeper into this forest it slowly gets more strange, the previous painting kinda mark where it began to change, crossing over the blue crack in the ground.

The look for the deeper parts of the forest comes from these two paintings, Twisted, old and glowing with magical energy.

Oh man! Even though its a test, its already making me excited. What software you using for animation if I may ask?

The animation is rendered in C4D with a Sketch and toon shader to make it look like the sketch that it is the character (placeholder) and animation are from mixamo.com.

But you could use any 3d software for this, its pretty low tech stuff i'm doing.
I've just setup my scene with a camera and path for the character so as long as its walk on that it will work, and i can change the animation and character later to fit my needs

This is the last scene i have prepared for now, when it's done i'll have to experiment more with what i can do, chaining more animations together and stuff like that, but we'll see, i honestly have no clue what i'm doing in regards to this sort of thing. ^^

Wrote two posts about where you can find some great inspiration in odd places.
Figured someone here might find it interesting.

( At least go get loomis´ figure drawing for all it's worth, if you don't already own it. )

your works are awesome, I really like your technique and style. And good to see an other c4d user ;p

hehe thank you, Its mostly just block stuff out and some mograph stuff i do i c4d, basic stuff, but your 3d stuff looks really great!

Yo. Some straight up captivating artwork here. Your environments are fascinating

Is there even any ground anymore? Like dirt underneath? Or is it purely layers of roots that the wanderer is running across now? Awesome stuff.
