Gosh! These are so cool! First of all the progress is very inspiring, and the later works are just great! Very nice values on the black and white face, and the texture is very interesting. I am curios: Do you use the smudge tool to achieve that effect or just a bush?
@Tutuja Thank you very much! Yeah I used the smudge and mixer brush tools.
Mixer Brush tool? Never heard of it. I'm gonna have to check it out now
A thing for inktober and my next piece for the 30 day rpg challenge. Sorta happy with it but looks flat so need to work on improving that.
Just some experimenting with colours. Using an opaque brush so it forces me to manually pick colours. Trying to figure out how the colour temperature shifts depending on what kind of lighting there is.
Some stuff from the past few days. Trying to design some assets(?) for my fantasy IP. A chance to explore shape language and try to keep it consistent. These are some chests for a noble elf race and dwarves.
I also try to draw from imagination everyday and apply what I've observed or studied. Trying to solidify my understanding of things and be able to feel them out. Drawing in pen also helps to be more confident. I try to find things that are off with these drawings and then go to study the things that need work.
I adore this, good work!
@shellz-art Thanks!
Thinking of creating some more creatures for my project. These are some golems. They help the dwarves to mine, smith and carry things. In return the dwarves help them by polishing their shell and preventing their cores from being harvested.
some imagination doodles before bed. Seriously gotta start drawing faces from more angles.
Fantastic stuff! I've found some helpful tips for myself in your studies, so i'm thankful.
@ragamuffin Thanks! I'm glad you found some of it helpful
Some tree dude. Too caught up in the details before working out an overall design lol and some rock studies. Half ref half imagination. Trying to feel the forms out myself.
Don't know why I don't do more environments. They're really fun. I still got to learn to be patient and just enjoy the process. Always expecting things to look good within the first hour, but I have to get out of that mindset and work on things for longer. A lot of the time we may be surprised what we are capable of if we were a little more patient.
Some stuff from the past few days. Rest is just boring sketchbook figures/gestures
Amazing! Your work is really inspirational to look at. The use of color, light and values are almost perfect. Keep it up!
@fried-noodles Thank you so much! Glad you like it
Been using a colour dynamic brush a lot lately. It's a lazy way to get some hue variation. I'm probably not really learning from using it but I still like it. Been noodling at these dwarves for the past few days on and off. I suppose It's a way to study anatomy while still working on personal projects. Still a lot of mistakes to be fixed.
Male version of the female mage apprentice. Looks too much like anti-mage from dota 2 > Some colour variations.
