Jordan W - Art School Journey

Howdy friends!

I am a new artist. And when I say new, I mean NEW. I am 32 years old and I have lately been craving a creative outlet. I started drawing with graphite and some pen, and I started to improve so fast that I felt I had a knack for this. I decided to get a drawing tablet to practice digital art and I signed up here so that I could have some guidance. I hope to eventually make a living from my art, not working for a company, but doing my own thing.

I plan to make this thread VERY busy! I want to post all of my work to document my art journey as best as I can. Mainly so I can look back on it to see my progress.

First day down! It was great to re-get to know Photoshop, as I havent dove into it since high school. Im pretty happy with how my lines turned out, but those stupid sexy circles need a lot of work.

Practiced some gesture drawing last night in bed. Today I plan to do my digital line practice again, as well as do some more sketch practice in graphite.

Here are a few more things I worked on over the last week before I started art school. The digital paintings are tracings, then painted over with a pallet i took from the actual photo. I am not that good yet . The second digital painting is a self portrait.

Day 2 of digital pen practice. After a good night sleep making those neuron connections, those stupid sexy circles are looking just slightly less stupid! Lets goooooo!
